The History of the "Television Tower" in Berlin is closely tied to the country's history generally speaking. During the time of Germany's division, East-Germany had this tower raised in 1960 to demonstrate the efficiency of the socialist regime.
At 238 metres, it is one of the symbols of the Reunification (along with the Brandebourg gate) and affords an incomparable view of the city.
