A giant of culture.

Built in 1830 by the celebrated architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel the Altes Museum ("old museum") is now listed as a UNESCO world heritage monument.
Ideally located on the Museum Island, the building is situated directly opposite the Pleasure Garden (Lustgarten). Several collections are have contributed to the reputation of this landmark of German and international culture. Indeed, the Altes Museum offers its visitors the chance to discover objects dating from antiquity and it revives a little of ancient Egypt and the Roman Empire.
