A few metres away from the Bangkok National Museum, the Art Gallery National Museum looks at Thai creation over the centuries. Built during the reign of Rama V, this Western style building shelters many works which are gathered in permanent and temporary exhibitions. The Celebration Room exhibits paintings of some of the country's kings. The Senior Artists Room exhibits works by modern and contemporary artists. On the 2nd floor, you will find an exhibition of traditional Thai works, such as a reproduction of an ancient temple painting. Do not miss this retrospective of Thai artistic creation.
