From Thursday, November 22 2018 to Saturday, November 24 2018
Every year, at the end of November, Loy Krathong, one of the most famous traditional festivals in the country, lights up Bangkok. To celebrate the end of the rainy season and honour Mae Khongkha, the Hindu Goddess of Water, locals float tiny boats, made of leaves and containing candles, on the water. It is also the tradition to launch lanterns into the sky to wave goodbye to everyday worries. A custom which is practised in lots of countries these days, for different occasions, but is best enjoyed in Bangkok, where the tradition was born.
