Royal Thai history.

Coinciding with Songkran, the Thai New Year, which also marks the beginning of the summer, the Chakri festival celebrates King Rama I, the first king of the Chakri dynasty, the origins of which date back to 1782.

The Grand Palace in Bangkok is the focal point for the Thai people who come to make offerings to the royal statues. The official ceremonies remember the glorious past of the Thai Kingdom.
