At home with De Stijl.

Built in 1924, this house is the work of architect Gerrit Rietveld, following a commission by Truus Schröder-Schräder who wanted an original house to live in.

Today, the Rietveld Schröder House is part of the World Heritage of Humanity (since 2000) and is representative of the De Stijl movement, which Rietveld was involved with.

During your visit to the house, note the straight lines of the building, the use of primary colours against black and white, and the modular spaces which make up the building.
