All year long
The most famous park in Amsterdam is without doubt the Vondelpark, which covers 48 hectares in the heart of the capital of the Netherlands between Leideseplein and Museumplein.
Among the many lanes, islets, lawns, trees and secret nooks known only to lovers, the Vondelpark is a mecca for bohemian and romantic souls. Only natural, since the Dutch poet Joost van den Vondel's statue proudly stands in the park lending his name to the Vondelpark.
Formerly a riding school, Vondelpark still retains the wonderful Dutch Royal Riding School.
The rose garden with its 70 different species (Centrum de Roos), the Film Museum and outdoor theatre are just some of the added attractions at Vondelpark.
Free concerts and plays are held outdoors in the park on some summer evenings
