Day Trips from Phuket

From Phi Phi Island to Phang Nga Bay

Beautiful beaches, incredible landscapes, and tropical nature are just some of the attractions that bring millions of people to Phuket Island every year – but chief amongst all of Phuket’s attractions is the spectacular island scenery that surrounds its coastline. Some of the most iconic Thai scenery is located in and around Phuket island, and therefore there are countless day trip destinations that could keep you busy for weeks.

Phang Nga Bay

In this article, we'll share a few tips on the destinations that you should definitely add to the to-do list for your next Phuket excursion.

Phi Phi Island

Thanks to a combination of Hollywood exposure and stunning scenery, the Phi Phi Islands are arguably more famous than Phuket itself.
The islands feature frequently as film sets, count many high profile celebrities as fans/patrons and therefore enjoy celebrity status within Thailand's circle of tourist hot spots.
Relax on the tranquil beaches of Maya Bay or Bamboo Island, and explore caves and mountains as you travel inshore. Conditions are also perfect for those with a diving certificate - the island's rich marine ecosystem needs to be seen up close and personal to be truly appreciated!
While you may not be able to see everything Phi Phi island has to offer in one day, you will surely not be disappointed by a visit, and it may even become the highlight of your trip. And hey, the amount of activities on offer might be just the excuse you need to extend your trip...

Phang Nga Bay

Another place that you’ve probably seen numerous times in pictures or even movies is the Phang Nga Bay, and there’s a good reason why it’s so popular among visitors.
The incredible seascape formed by the rock formations in the water makes it one of the most surreal places in the world, but that’s far from the only thing worth exploring when visiting.
If you take a speedboat tour, you will also be able to visit the Limestone Caves, Lawa Island, Panak Island, and the James Bond Island.

Khao Sok National Park

Located 150lm from Phuket, Khao Sok National Park,is the perfect place to seek respite from island paradise in the form a good old-fashioned hike.
Trek through lush rainforests, kayak through the winding rivers of Khao Sok and explore (sometimes bat-ridden) caves. Transport comes in the form of an elephant - the perfect vantage point to see the forest wildlife in all its glory.
At the very heart of it all, you'll find Cheow Lan Lake and its famous floating raft houses. Pick a house and spend the night for a truly unique on the water experience.
