Exploring the City's Best Food Markets

Whilst Phuket has a number of incredible attractions, from beautiful scenery to bustling nightlife, its bustling food markets are often overlooked. So if you want to get to know the bustling food scene that co-exists alongside Phuket’s beautiful beaches, here are a few suggestions of the places to start your culinary journey.

phuket food market

Phuket Town Central Market

Located at the very heart of Phuket Old Town, the Phuket Town Central Market is always a great option for those looking to shop fresh and dried delicacies. The market is open every morning and has one of the most extensive selection of vegetables, meat, seafood, fish, exotic fruit, spices, and ready-made dishes found anywhere in the region.

Banzaan Market

Whilst the Banzaan Market isn’t as large as the Phuket Town Central Market, the market’s unique contemporary design make it must-visit.
Architectural appeal aside, the Banzaan food market offers fresh produce and a food court. Visit Sai Kor Road anytime from 7 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon to grab a ready-made meal prepared using tasty local treats.

Kamala Village Market

If you want a completely different Thai food market experience, the Kamala Village Market might be just the place to visit. Located on the Kamala-Patong Road, it offers the truly authentic food market experience without the crowds to match.
The market is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 3 PM to 7:30 in the afternoon, and operates with an intimate atmosphere plus some of the freshest produce on the island. The perfect setting to shop (and barter) like a local.
