We had stayed at the Rixos Hotel in Doha last year and had the best time. The hotel’s service, food, facilities, and staff were amazing. However, our recent stay at the Rixos on the Palm did not match our experience in Doha. I’m surprised this hotel is said to be a 5 star as it feels like it is a 4. The facilities are great however the service, staff and food were extremely poor. We were disappointed. We would regularly eat at the buffet with our little one – there would be no-one to greet us at the entrance and take us to our table. We repeatedly had to request for a highchair, baby cutlery and at times staff would forget our drinks order. The food was repetitive, and dishes seems tasteless. Room service was slow. We would request our room to be cleaned at specific times to work around our baby’s naps, but they would never meet our requirements. Amenities in the room would have to be requested and not replenished by default. We didn’t have shower gel for 3 days! The staff seem disengaged – you would always find them on their personal phones – not willing to greet you or help. I found that was the case at the spa, buffet restaurant and Bodrum (another outdoors restaurant). I did voice my concerns to guest relations and the front desk manager – whilst they took what I said onboard before my departure, I’m not sure how much of it will be actioned and improved. From reading previous reviews from other guests, they all seem to be voicing the same concerns. The facilities are great, but the hotel have a long way to go until they can fulfil that 5-star quality. The Rixy club for kids was great – we used Alina for babysitting services. She was lovely and very accommodating. There were a few other members of staff that were lovely and I don’t want them to go unnoticed – Frederick from Bodrum (always provided efficient and polite service), Kumuran from luggage (he made a real effort to get to know us and spent time always making me little one laugh), Pubinder from Al Turca (he would always come and check in on us and was accommodating with any requests we had) and Jagdish from pool side – he would always check in on us too. I wouldn’t recommend this resort – food, service and staff are so important to us and unfortunately this hotel did not reach those standards.

We stayed at Rixos towards the last week of April 2024, I am frankly surprised that this establishment is a 5 star hotel. The rooms were extremely dirty and outdated, the Tv was old and there was dust everywhere in the room. We were happy with the service from the staff who were all friendly and pro-active. The buffet was limited and very often offered the same food each day. Kids club, Beach and the other pools and amenities were good and what you expect from any resort. But overall i would say there are definitely better hotels to stay especially in a place like Dubai. We didn't feel as if we received our money's worth . I would recommend everyone who's booking at the rixos to please ensure you get a refurbished room and do not rely on the buffets as they are so standard and tasteless

Expectations from the Rixos the palm were very high but did not get that in reality.

Well the hotel itself is good. Although there are many minuses but can live with it. But as I see staying with small kids is not a good experience here at Rixos. Food available is not for small babies. Baby food available is only vegetables in glass jars. Only once chicken and rice was available. Whenever we ask for the chicken and rice we get a reply that it is finished. Blenders are available but they also do not work all the time. There are mosquitoes everywhere. My kids have mosquito bites on whole bodies and we complained about it but no measures were taken. Room air conditioners are working not as per the given temperature. Either very cold or very warm.
