Great party but not good service

Was there for a family party. Staff let the hotel down- they were all lovely but not enough staff or maybe there were not organised properly. Staff seemed to be fighting fires. Bar pumps not working the party started at 7 and the bar was set up and things tested before the start of the party. Breakfast never seen queues in a hotel for breakfast!

Very good location for the event at the Passmore Academy nearby. Room clean and comfortable, however draft from window that would close properly. Would like a thicker duvet or the option of a blanket next time. Friendly staff, very helpful. Delicious breakfast with lots of choice. All in all very satisfied and price reasonable.

Ok, bed uncomfortable, pillows very hard.

The hotel was nice and quiet. The pool was as it always is (grew up in the area and learnt to swim in the pool, mum is still a member). The bathroom seemed a bit tired and need of a bit of TLC. The bed was uncomfortable to say the least. The mattress was hard and the pillows were beyond hard and uncomfortable, was like sleeping with my head on a rock. The room was hot and the duvet was too thick for the time of year. It was at least as clean as I'd expect for the price I paid.

I was very unhappy that you could not accommodate a family of four in one room so because of this i had to pay for two rooms at full price! It cost me £340 for two nights and i don't believe the rooms are at a standard to be charging this rate. I often stay at the hotel as i have friend that live near but i will be look else where from now on.

I just needed a base for the night whilst visiting family and meeting up with one of my sons. The beds were comfortable; the room basically clean and well-equipped but in need of refurbishment (rusty shower rail, grubby walls and chair, stains on carpet). My son and I made use of the gym, pool, jacuzzi and steam room. Breakfast was excellent - a good selection of food at the buffet and freshly poached or fried eggs were offered by the attentive staff. Shout out to Kim for her cheery and helpful service.

Hot wings very dry, had been cooked and left on the side until someone orders them and then cooked again luckily they had hot sauce on them so could not taste how bad they really was Burger the bun was left on the grill too long was like eating burnt toast and the cheese was over heated to a point that there was no cheese left on it . Staff was very help full and friendly. I had a choice to stay here or at a Premier inn down the road food is fantastic there but I know they didn’t have Air-con and that the prices are very similar for the room.

The only bad thing I could say is that it was my fiancé’s birthday and was meant to have something in our room but unfortunately nothing was in there just a bit disappointed but other than that fantastic stay!

Room was clean, bed was very hard it felt like sleeping on an ironing board, we requested more pillows but none were bought to us. Myself and a friend ordered two drinks at the bar which came to £25, I was shocked, the bar is a sad run down room with bright red pleather seats, not somewhere you would expect to pay 5* prices by no stretch of the imagination, even the bar maid was embarrassed about the price. On check out we were charged £15 each for breakfast, it was so basic I can’t tell you, I literally had some toast and two of the cheapest vegetarian sausages you can buy.

The fact that you were showing Naked Attraction while there were children in the bar was a shock. In fact, whether or not there are children in the bar, you should never be showing a TV show with penises up close; the digs are already bad enough, you don't need anything else highlighting the lack of class... However, have to say the reception staff was helpful nice and customer focused; very pleasant to talk to.

The room was lovely, the hotel clean. Our bad experience lies with our autistic son who put £10 into the fruit machine in the bar area which jammed. He was told nothing could be done because the machine did not belong to the hotel As we were checking out the receptionist told us that she would call once the machine owner had been to check the machine, she did not, we have had no communications from the hotel since. POOR

No real problems - helpful staff, comfortable room. Hotel is showing signs of old age and looks a bit tatty but bedroom was clean and comfortable. We had to leave at 4 am for flight and hotel provided a packed breakfast which was good.

Professional and friendly team. Good quality room which was clean and had effective air conditioning. Despite being close to the road once the windows were shut we were not aware of traffic noise. Comprehensive breakfast choice, efficient and helpful, always ensuring buffet was well stocked.

We recently enjoyed a family (lots of us, 90+) mini-break at The Harlow Hotel, a great time was had by all. I would like to commend all the staff, in particular:- Sarah on reception, Kellie, Samantha and Courtenay for the girls and Dan and Max for the boys in the events/catering/bar team. I know everyone was extremely pleased and happy with the service, food and courtesy provided, so much so that we're planning to do it all again the same time next year. Satisfactory. Didn't have my full booking details for the 3 rooms I had booked when checking in. I had requested a ground floor room, as close to reception as possible, as I have difficulty walking. Yet I was given a room, almost as far from reception as possible.
