Disinterested receptionist both when checking in and checking out. Room was very shabby with extremely stained carpet, dirty cups, broken tiles in the bathroom and not even a towel rail to hang wet towels. Door chain had clearly been forced open in the past as the frame was damaged and the repair was shoddy. The actual door lock did not work. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable, and I woke up with a numb arm where I’d slept on my side. The room and the corridors smelled stale, like an old nightclub. I booked a dog friendly room and I feel like I was given a substandard room for this reason. Although it was a dog friendly room, dogs are not allowed in the restaurant. In other hotels I’ve stayed in, dog friendly tables were allocated at one side so as not to disturb other guests. Overall it was not a pleasant stay and I checked out a day early. I most definitely will not be returning and the standard of the hotel did not warrant what I paid.

The staff make this place which is in need of some modernisation but is very clean and comfortable. Sitting in Reception the lady handled customers concerns exceptional well. My room was 244 a long walk to get to from the main facilities. The room is basic clean and the bed super comfortable. The bathroom has eco friendly products and my only niggle was there was no usb ports but luckily in reception area there were plenty. Breakfast had a wide selection and good value at £10. As with buffets the food was on warmers and not hot and sausages hard. We had a problem with our car and we had to leave in the car park and arrange taxis - the same lady on reception in the morning was super helpful only sorry I didn't get her name for a mention!

The hotel has been refurbished and under new management, for somewhere that I didn’t even consider staying over the past 10 years it has seen a massive improvement. It was quiet, very clean with the staff very friendly and helpful . If I need to go back to Harlow I will stay there again.

I was given a room with a window that couldn't close. Shortly after reporting to reception a member of staff came to check the window and agreed it was broken. Within minutes the gentleman came back with a key for another room a few doors away. Unfortunately the weather was particularly cold and I couldn't get the room to heat up properly despite following the instructions on how to use the thermostat by the receptionist. Thankfully I had brought extra blankets and warm clothes to sleep in so at least I was warm when in bed. Because of this I would be reluctant to stay here again because I was here for 5 nights in an overly cool room.
