Check-in staff and breakfast ladies were extremely friendly and helpful. Excellent view on the Ouse from breakfast room and one of the two rooms we had booked. Unfortunately it was not possible to open any of the windows, something which would normally be a total no-go for us. It hadn't occurred to us to even ask about that before our stay. Some minor things are yet to be improved. The hotel is in a restructuring/refurbishing phase. We were told by next year everything will be finished. The hotel was advertised on an Accor site, booking was possible there but I couldn't use my Accor points. This also should be possible as of next year when the brand change is complete and fully functional.

Booked for wedding anniversary and let hotel know. We were welcomed by name in reception and met food and beverages Manager Dan, who was passing bye as we booked in. Booked Privilege Room and found ice bucket with bottle of Prosecco and an anniversary card signed by the staff. This great start continued throughout our stay. Fantastic, attentive staff at all times made it a stay to remember. The hotels location beside the busy river with many swans, ducks, geese and rowers overlooking the town is what makes it memorable. Lovely to see the river well used. Hotel being upgraded by Mercure at the moment but workers very discrete and not intrusive at all. The staff are a real credit to the hotel and were very attentive at all times. We can’t wait to go back.

You advertise in the rooms that newspapers can be ordered at reception the night before. Your reception staff said you didn't provide this service - after a bit of insistence on my part they did order me a paper as requested. You need to be able to provide the services that you advertise without the hassle that I had to go through.

Hotel being refurbished, a bit messy,poor breakfast, very poor choice of beer. Lines being cleaned so no draft. Had one basic and one superior room, couldn't tell the difference and kept being told by different staff one or the other was superior still not sure..staff friendly and helpful. Excellent location

Hotel ok but gym seems to have been neglected since Accor have taken over the hotel from Radisson. £9 for a glass of wine in Bedford really? Single room was over £100 but what you get is NOT value for money. Booking direct process was painful. Had to keep calling back when someone from the reservations team was in.

I was allocated a disability room (206) when I did not have need, thus depriving a disabled traveller of the facility. The room itself was basic. Equipment and facilities were generally in good order. There was not enough space to position a wheelchair at either side of the bed - no help to a disabled person. In the bathroom, there are two safety covers missing from the RH hand rail over the bath, leaving sufficient space to trap a finger or toe. My night was disturbed by a noisy motor / pump located in the ceiling outside the room. The machine ran until 02:30 and only after that was I able to sleep. It started up again shortly after 06:00. Breakfast was most enjoyable. I reported the noisy machine at reception in the morning and it was immediately passed on to maintenance for action. I was not offered any recompense but did receive an apology. All the staff I met were polite and efficient. The stairways are very poorly signposted. Not everyone is comfortable with a lift. Please ensure that all stairs are as clearly identified as the lifts, with signage for each floor.

The mattress was absolutely disgusting. It was sagging, stained and didn't have a mattress protector on it. I refused to stay and I feel astounded that Accor felt this was acceptable especially as the room was excessively overpriced at £157 B&B. The manageress is very apologetic but she couldn't change anything about the room. However, she did ensure that the meeting I attended the next day was well cared for with food and drinks - so thank you to her and the catering team.
