Firstly - checking in was very smooth with a special mention to the chap on the desk was really polite and friendly - a really great welcome. One lift was out of order but not a problem as the one next to it was working with a 3rd lift just around the corner. My 2nd floor room was compact but very well decorated with no signs of wear & tear. The bed - the mattress was so comfortable that i really didnt want to get out of bed the following morning. I had previously stayed at this hotel under the Park Inn name but Mercure have really raised the level since aquiring this hotel.

Steps up into the hotel reception aren't great when you are struggling with suitcases. One lift was out of action so you either had a long wait or had to walk up to the top floor. Monday morning the builders were refurbishing the whole of second floor, so no lie in for us. Our room on the top floor had been refurbished which was nice, however, there was a very small gap between the end of the bed and the telly on the wall, so you literally had to lean over the bed to get past. A large person would really struggle. The bathroom had obviously been recently re-tiled, however, some of the tiles had got cracked or broken in the process, so you could see where it was a bit botched round the towel rail or in the shower.

A great stay everything that we required was there with good service and very friendly staff. Very good welcome at front desk and all staff helpful.. Good room with large TV and plenty of staff in all sections Bar and Dining Room.Next time we will probably use the swimming pool. Regards to Ali and Loren the only names we remembered.

The hotel is in a good location. The free car parking and leisure facilities are a real bonus. The hotel is going through a much needed refurbishment, which is especially needed in the leisure facilities. Hopefully moving under the Mercure group will help this to be progressed. Staff are always helpful however there was an issue at reception with whether the room had been paid, as it was paid in advance via Accor hotels website. this happened the previous time we stayed.

The hotel room was extremely small, no shower gel only shampoo in bathroom. The hotel was under renovation and hotel was tired and not up to most mecure standards. The main reason I book Mecure hotels is for the breakfast, however not at this hotel. Food was poor quality and selection a real let down.

Lovely clean, comfortabe quality room and bathroom. All anyone could want. I believe it is a new room, so little things may need a little attention. 1. Shower taps didn’t have caps on so a bit of guess work involved. Brilliant that they are accessible before going into shower. 2. Hairdryer didn’t heat up. Cool air on every setting. 3. Maybe us, but couldn’t get air conditioning to cool the room. We will most likely book again whilst daughter at uni, as it was a lovely hotel experience. Parking the car there was fuss free, and the staff were fabulous and helpful.

Needed a quick trip to Nottingham for event at University. c20min walk from town centre, and able to leave car all day in their car park (ask). Currently being refurbished, so the rooms (in use) are fresh, and clean, and well equipped with electric sockets for those with more than 1 device!... Aircon was not working in our room - reported in the morning and profuse apologies. Good breakfast in the morning and very friendly staff - especially Soo. Benefit of Swiming Pool and Gym + Hot Tub, Sanua, Steam Room. That area is fine, but showing age. Still clean. Great stay, and convenient for town centre (if you like a walk)

The main entrance and reception of the hotel look promising. Staff were polite when we checked in at midnight. The corridors however smelt of stale of cigarette smoke, the room, especially the carpet really needed a good wash. Such a shame because the size of the room was actually very good, however overall the room was only just adequately clean.

All the staff we encountered were polite & helpful. The room carpets were in poor condition, however this was understandable as the hotel was going through a refit and the rooms we were allocated were amongst those waiting to be refurbished. The thermostat on the air-conditioning system did not work and I turned the system off.

We experiance a few issues with our meal and dessert but they were quickly rectified and didnt inpact our stay! The room was clean and lovely layout, the bed was comfy and the staff were great friendly and helpful... sadly had to leave a day earlier, but every little detail was brilliant... i was celebrating my engagement with my partner and the prosseco n chocolates were a special touch.
