This stay could have been great. I had a really lovely corner room, and I enjoyed the art and the food at the museum. I walked to a coffee shop nearby in the morning and really enjoyed downtown Lexington. The problem was service, which was less than stellar. The waitress seemed vaguely annoyed to have to wait on me, and was generally inattentive. I was alone and had a lot of bags, and I got no help at the door when I arrived or when I left, or getting up the stairs to the check in when I arrived. In fact, when I left, the doorman/valet asked if I had a car, and when I replied no, he went behind his stand and watched me struggle with the door. The front desk staff was fine - nothing egregious, but I can’t say they were particularly friendly.

Upon arrival we checked in went ok. Valet parking the car and asked for luggage assistance ( 2 ladies). Young valet brought cart said will this work. I replied I think it’s a bit small. He said “we’ll try it”. To which I replied is there no one available to help with luggage? With a lot of attitude he said” ok”. Then begrudgingly assisted. He pulled the cart into the room but had us unload it. We tripped nicely regardless. Then when getting ready for dinner I discovered one of my bags didn’t make it to the room. He told us to go up while he loaded. It was a large bag that had all makeup, hairstyling items, prescription meds etc. I called in about 30 minutes they brought up my prescription med bag that was inside the big bag. I explained the problem. About 45 minutes later my big bag arrived. I asked where it had been. She didn’t know. The first morning we discovered there there were dead outlet switches in the room as one I had my phone pulled into didn’t work. None of the lights in the main room would work but the bathroom lights did. As to maid service for the 2nd night they made the beds but didn’t take the dirty towels replace them with fresh, take glasses from the bar empty waste baskets. Seemed they walked in made the beds and left. In a friends room maid service did nothing and in a 2nd friends room they had full service. Maid service was hit or miss throughout the 3 night stay as was the electrical system and whether there were lights in the main room. The over head light only worked once so it made even seeing in the room difficult at times. No one was ever sent up to address the issue. We were largely dependent upon natural light from the window. Also, upon booking it reflected that our rate was $332 per night plus taxes ect… and provided a total based upon that. Upon checking out though we learned that the rates varied each night going as high as $467 plus taxes ect. That should have been reflected up front. I organized a girls trip to (3 rooms) to bring friends back to my hometown. I was embarrassed that I had selected your hotel and was constantly apologizing for staff behavior and the undesirable hotel experience. I will also be spreading the word to all my Lexington friends about our experience which honestly is the worst I have ever experienced particularly at that price point. I will be encouraging friends in Lexington to never let any of their out of town guest stay at your hotel.

Our second stay here but we have stayed at numerous 21c hotels countless times. This one lives up to the standard set by the brand. Just a single night to go watch the ponies at Keeneland. Room was great and so was breakfast.
