The hotel is very well located as it’s close to the M1, but far enough away to be a quiet retreat. The room had some character and was well appointed. The breakfast was great and the staff were friendly throughout my short stay. Only downside was the Electric Car charger was occupied. But at least you have one!

Having stayed at Tankersley Manor last year we thought we would book and stay there again this year as it had been very nice. What a disappointment it was this time. We had booked 2 rooms, one for my mother in law and one for us. My MIL room was dirty and full of dust, the floor of the shower was slippy and the room was cold. There was no door on the wardrobe. Our room was also very dirty with dust everywhere, hairs in the bath and no shower gel. Then the worst part…..our bed. The pillow inside the slip was dirty and had hairs in it. When pulling back the bed sheet the mattress was completely soiled with yellow stains all over it. There were black hairs all over it. The carpet was stained all over and the room was cold as there were no thermostat. The cooked breakfast was very nice and the chef was a lovely guy and extremely helpful and friendly but the selection of items available for the continental was limited. There was pot holes all over the car park with one huge one almost 10 inches deep! ( no exaggeration). We did however receive a discount on our first night which was ok but the unhygienic state of the 2 rooms has left us with a sour taste and we shall not be returning to Tankersley manner. This hotel is nowhere near a 4*.

Very friendly and efficient staff. A very comfortable room and nice and quiet. Having a mini fridge was a useful bonus as was having a room service breakfast, which was excellent. Lovely well kept grounds to stroll round with my dog.
