Very beautiful hotel with a quick and easy check in The room was sized well and with a nice view Breakfast was ok However the Wifi did not work on Saturday, until we left at all. And when I asked the reason for one of the Hotel’s employees I’ve heard “we are in the middle of a forest”. Totally BS.

Very nice place in an old building that need a smal renovation. The Swimmingpool inside isn't up to date anymore, but also many "litle corner" arn't state of the art anymore. A litle refrechment (painting, ...) would be nice.

Excellent room. Pity that no tea is served at breakfast (when I asked I was told it isn't). Also that (1) there was no decaffeinated coffee or (2) no lactose-free milk (in other parts of the world, the latter is increasingly offered to clients with lactose allergies or issues).

The location is charming, the building is new and elegant, but theree's a need of little more 'life' in it: too little animation in the bar in the evening (none, actually), and the kitchen closes at 22! We arrived at 21.58 and only the kindness of the waitress allowed us to have a club sandwich!

The hotel is in lovely parkland. Checking in was very odd. No reception desk meant that you had to catch the eye of the very busy people who looked like staff (fairly easy to spot as they were in black). It could have been a long wait on this particularly busy day without any type of queueing system (some pushiness needed to ensure that later, more vocal arrivers did not keep jumping in!) Rooms fine - normal international type standard. Fridge in room was useless and there are no ice machines on the floors. (Maybe a ploy to encourage spending at the very expensive bar?) It is too far to walk to Chantilly town (but only about 8 Euros in an Uber) .... but being just 5 minutes away the cost of the taxi was swiftly recouped compared to using the bar/restaurant in the hotel. 3 rooms booked through Booking.com but 1 had not moved across to Mercure booking system properly so had to spend 30 minutes plus convincing the staff that it was inclusive of breakfast (otherwise that would have been an extra 49 Euros for 2 of us) Probably a particularly good location for golfers, swimmers or fitness seekers Chantilly itself is wonderful.

The place has a lot of potential. Gorgeous Calm Could be an amazing resort for short breaks BUT Horrible inexperienced staff Long wait at check-in, completely lost with the rooms organisation Very kind lady at the bar BUT completely over saturated with clients Very kind lady at the restaurant BUT ALONE for all, and completely over over over over saturated Resort completely under staffed Very very very very sad to see this ! because there is soooo much potential

On arrival hotel looks impressive. Not sure about no hotel reception desk. Room was okay but getting into Bath which is very high and not easy (why not replaced when refurbished ?). Bar area is pleasant except for some people walking around in just shorts and sweating (should enforce people to wear a top). Was attending Prix du jockey Club and had ordered a taxi which was easy. As we started to get changed we realised we had water leak into the cupboard which had got my suit and shirt wet and some other clothes. We had to wear them because Taxi had arrived to take us to the racecourse. We notified reception as we left. On return the water leak had been fixed but our clothes which we had moved were still wet and nobody told what had occured or apologised. Then overnight it became apparent that the air conditioning was not working (presume this is what caused leak) which made sleeping difficult as it was very warm.

The hotel is comfortable, well located, and in line with what you would expect from Mercure Hotels. The service however, wasn't. There was an utter lack of management presence while very junior and inexperienced staff were left to their own devices.

We stayed here two years ago and it was extremely good. However, this year it was poor. Although the rooms are fine with the exceptions of not being able to turn on the bath taps without getting into bath first because of the shower screen and the dazzling blue light from the air conditioning controls that lit the bedroom at night (I put tape over it), the prices are ridiculously high. 10€ for a beer is too much and wine by the glass in10cl measures is downright parsimonious. The restaurant, which two years ago was sensational in both food and service was on this visit mediocre with small portion size, no vegetables on offer other than tepid mash potato and my steak which was supposed to be cooked "blue" arrived cooked through. This gave us the dubious honour of having the price of a cup of tea removed from our bill! The breakfast is not included and the items supposedly kept hot in covered trays were at best, lukewarm. France is renowned for its fine pastries but those on offer ad the consistency of yesterday's castoffs. This hotel has the potential to be wonderful again but the current owners and management team need to take a long hard look at themselves and work out a way to improve everything.
