We were a group of four friends staying two nights (Wed 9/Thurs 10 October). I stayed at The Cullen in June of this year and have enjoyed The Blackman on numerous occasions. I stayed at The Olsen the first week it opened in anticipation of something new and special in the hotel market. To date I have been a big fan. Sadly, The Cullen did not impress this time around. The reception desk staff are just too casual. At check-in we enquired after doing a tour of the hotel’s art-a service which is offered by the hotel group. We were given scant information and when we followed up the issue were advised that 9.30am on the Friday, the day of our departure was available. We arranged our plans for Friday accordingly only to be told by the desk at 9.30 that morning that the lady due to show us around was not there. Not much of an apology or explaination given. Another unsavory issue was being charged twice for drinks enjoyed in the Gramercy Social. Two of us enjoyed four glasses of Happy Hour bubbles which were paid for. Our friend who name the booking was under “Walker” was later approached and asked to settle the bill-around $50, which she paid. These drinks had already been covered and came to just $24 being at happy hour prices. Confused? So are we. Lastly, I realised once checked out on Friday that I had left a bottle of Lanson champagne in a brown paper bag in my bar fridge in Room 516. I called reception to explain, hoping that house keeping would have found it and that is would be in lost property. The lady is spoke with checked and said nothing had been found except a pair of black court shoes-these were not mine so I asked if the correct room had been searched. I also enquired whether the room was now newly occupied and was told it was not. No offer to check again. A very strange outcome. I write of these things not because I’m devastated to have “lost” a bottle of bubbles but rather to flag an indifferent staff. Our stay did not make us feel valued.

Hotel was nice, especially decoration. Location was great, right near chapel Street. Bed was comfy but pillows were uncomfortable. Bathroom wasn't great due to glass walls.

Having stayed here before we basically know what to expect and we especially like the location. We were allocated a quiet room as requested and staff always happy and helpful. Pillows were very soft though and would recommend one hard and one soft to provide a choice. Lounge chairs were not clean and could do with a vacuum as covered in hair and crumbs.

Stayed for 2 nights and stayed in twin room - we loved it. Was surprised had to pay for bottled water - maybe not on bed side tables as leaves impression water if free. Staff were wonderful - very helpful and with great attitude.

Very nice stay there was one bad experience with the hairdryer. The filter on back was broken and it sucked my daughter's hair in. She was devastated. The staff were extremely apologetic and got us a new hair dryer within minutes. I was very happy with how quickly they and professionally they dealt with the situation.
