The decor and appliances are old and the room was dusty, tv remote didn't work (or have a battery cover), there was no preprogrammed iPod or whatever it is that they spruik, it's a clock radio from the early 2000s that didn't even work. The bed is tiny, I'm only 6 foot but my legs were hanging out up to my shins, smaller than a queen. The "open plan" layout felt far from it, the room/box that the display bed is in is small and bordering on claustrophobic. Shower was dirty and leaked water out into the rest of the bath room, so I'd suggest throwing a few towels down near the door. The bar snacks looked tampered with. Overall not the experience I expect from a 5 star hotel and especially one with the reviews that the Blackman has.

We enjoy staying at The Blackman for the location, room size and the quality of the furnishing. Very comfortable bed however pillows are too soft and too narrow. The closeby building made privacy an issue.

Had an excellent time staying at The Blackman with my family. Very comfortable even with 4 people in 1 room - due to the clever floor layout. The only drawbacks were some very noisy neighbours at the hotel that had loud late night parties 2 nights in a row, and the shower head that wouldn’t stay in the right place - had to be held out with a hand towel shoved behind it! Neither of those things were enough to dampen our experience too much!

I would like to specifically mention Yohan who went above & beyond in making my parents stay at the hotel extremely comfortable. I don't have anything negative to say about Blackman. I always look forward to staying in this hotel. :) One thing I miss though is the old cafe downstairs, Depot De Pain. I really loved having a great breakfast to start the day. Not so much with the new one.

I chose the Blackman because of proximity to parks, transport and advertised facilities. Whilst the location was great, the facilities were disappointing- the room felt overused with no movie channel available the first night (fixed) but loose and broken bathroom fittings and grubby glasses in the kitchen. Just a little worn down. Staff were also more offhand than you would expect for the price.

The view and the room was just amazing. Couldn’t have been more happier just relaxing in the balcony with the amazing scenery of the sunset. Staffs were extremely helpful and helped me every single time I asked them for it. Could not have asked for more. Thank you Blackman team

When I arrived the amazing lady at reception was some welcoming I felt like I was home. BUT I needed to get up early to do work and when the wifi was not working I called the front desk to be told its working and he had no issues. I became frustrated with this, so I called again and I called again and they sent up a night man to check it and yes he agreed it was not working. I felt the man at the front desk really did not care and treated me like I was stupid. I also raised this with the front desk and they all they could say was sorry and nothing else.

We arrived quite exhausted at the Blackman to helpful and welcoming service, but it didn't end there. Due to weather our flight was delayed to late evening departure, staff were very helpful in securing our room for the day to allow my young daughter to rest prior to the flight. The meal provided at dinner via room service was also the best I have had in the hotel, compared to previous stays.

I have stayed with art series several times. This time I have been overcharged. I had to screenshot my account to prove. There are 2 amounts still pending in my account. Should be one. Have been told just to wait and will be fixed and could take several days. Not good enough really. Very uncomfortable they have access to my credit card and can do this. Won’t stay again

Not up to the standard of a hotel that I would recommend. Only reason I had and have to stay here is because my office is walking distance and this is their corporate hotel. On my last night, one of the towel was not replenished and the tea and coffee were also not restocked. On the first day upon check-in, the toilet paper was on its last few rolls. Understandably there is a spare roll in the cupboard but why skimp on toilet paper. It should always be a full roll for new arrivals.
