We booked Peppers to use the pool and spa. Both during our stay were out of service for several days. We booked through Trivago and the company went into liquidation. There was an email in our Junk, which we had not seen, so paid twice to stay here, and still not have services available to us.

The hotel itself was amazing, one of the nicest in Adelaide. The food from the breakfast was about a 7.5/10. But the attitude from one of the ladies during check out was appalling. It was as if she didn’t want to be there. Had absolutely no interest in our group. Just wanted to get us out the door. Because of that I’m not sure if I would give a second chance at the amount we paid.

I had a great suite on the 14th floor, however I noticed a lot of noise form the corridor and other rooms. Te room was comfortable and clean. The service in the restaurant was slow the night I arrived and on another occasion I went for coffee - this stopped me going there on any other occasion - I went outside of the hotel instead. The gym equipment was pretty clunky - to the point of not being able to use the cross trainer.

The room was nice and staff were lovely. A basic need for mewhen traveling is exercise. I was very dissapointed with the Peppers gym facilities; they were sub-standard to the point where they were almost unuseable. The cardio equipment is in deseprate need of maintenance or, better yet, an upgrade and the room is far too cramped to make use of the free weights.

For our 49th anniversary stay and group dinner that night, we choose Peepers after and on line check of swimming and gym facilities. We checked in early to use the pool as we are regular swimmers. The pool was closed for the duration for maintenance. The TV in our room was very outdated. No "Guide" facility and a very poor picture on all channels. Food for our table of six was very limited in selection and very ordinary in production.

Overall it was a satisfactory stay but I suggest that charging for in-room wifi is not acceptable these days and I will reconsider hotel options when choosing Adelaide next time.

We found our deluxe room was great with plenty of space and also commend the hotel on their part with conservation issues where towels/sheets if requested not replaced every day. The buffet breakfast was one of the best experienced with such wonderful variety catering to all tastes. The staff were always very courteous at all times.

Five stars? I can't see how! Stayed for 2 nights here, and made the following observations:- Checking in: Arrogant young man said my credit card was declined, purely because he mucked it up! It seems the Mantra mantra is for staff to never admit they may be wrong. Same with the complimentary drink; a cheap and nasty Sauvignon Blanc being the only white available, and the bar girl nervously unable to effect a suitable solution! We had to take our own bags, and find our own room. The Welcome Valued Member card had my very simple name spelt incorrectly, and the greeting on the TV was clumsily done as well! No instructions about the weird light switching regime. The clock was an hour out: quite confusing when you're arriving from a different time zone. A blown globe in the bathroom. The bathroom door fell off its runners. I could hear the televisions from the rooms on either side. Our TV picture was fuzzy on all channels. No information about the hotel, just the room service menus. Asked reception about the apparently secret location of the pool, and was told it was out of order, but she cheerfully informed me that it was likely to be fixed an hour after we checked out! Was surprised to not find the expected gowns and slippers, and was told by reception that she could send some up. I said they should have been here in the first place, and not to bother. Minutes later, Housekeeping knocked on the door, bothering me with the items I had just declined! The only people who were cheerful or pleasant in any way were the housekeepers we passed in the corridors, and one of the doormen! All others failed to let you catch their eye as you came and went. We paid a premium price due to school holidays apparently, and it was upsetting at checkout to overhear guests being offered the same rooms at $50.00 a night less in order to keep them there! o I have stayed in Mantra establishments before, so perhaps 'fool me' for doing so again, plus I have worked in a proper 5 star hotel for the last dozen years, so I have standards, but all of this was disappointing, and I feel they've taken my money under false pretences!
