Only concern was when the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and we heard none of the announcements. I had to go out into the hall which might have been dangerous. The other issue (which is universal) ... what happens when people take their hearing aids out to sleep. My husband heard none of the fuss. Do you do a room check?

No parking available. Informed at checkin that parking must be booked separately. This was not mentioned when booking through Qantas. Building condition below expectation for 4 star hotel. Limited dining choices. What was available was more backpaker style. Not easy to get to room.

The hotel and staff are fantastic! I was a bit disappointed with the breakfast. It was an odd mix of continental buffet and select al a carte menu. Not the best, but it filled our tummies. Jack at the check in desk was great also.

The staff were extremely professional, helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. I was with my mother who had a walking stick and they made my task of caring for her easier. The room was brilliant and the restaurant was great too.

It is a lovely hotel with great staff ,if we needed anything extra it was done with a smile Lovely outdoor eating area , no loud music, great dining We have been before and will go again. We have a therapy dog, the room was large and the shower accomodating for someone with a disability . Our room was not serviced every day but fresh towels and a service if we needed it was done.

Good location for Floriade

Chose the hotel due to closeness of location to Floriade. Love the bathroom. Breakfast left a little too be desired and wouldn't recommend people adding this option... Very few options and clearly not being replenished

Very welcoming and beds super comfortable. It was located in a great spot for us to visit Floriade and some great eating places within walking distance. Also a doable walk to Canberra City for groceries.

no natural light when I entered, couldn't find any closet for hanging, sheets were really stiff and I would have liked a blanket but none in the room

We found Peppers to be a comfortable, welcoming place to stay, with efficient and friendly service. We enjoyed our stay. Our only issues were: - in room 129, the shower fittings are coming loose and need attention - the rooms would really benefit from windows that open, they feel airless and stuffy. Other than that, an excellent stay.

The staff were very nice but my room was not. It was like a dungeon. the one window was covered in cobwebs, the paint was peeling, nothing on the walls. not very inviting. The bathroom was tired and rotting wood on the door frame. the tiles were worn. The bed head was worn out. I ordered dinner in my room and did not get cutlery for my dessert, no serviette, no salt and pepper. The outside area is lovely but chairs and tables were dirty. sadly it is usually the little things that matter and some more attention to detail would go a long way. location was good. I think the issue is that the reception area is so modern and fresh but the rooms let you down. Peppers hotels are usually of a higher standard.

The room was really nice and clean, and very tastefully decorated. The amenities were adequate. I did have to request for a toothpaste which was kind of unusual because you can find them even in pretty basic hotels. My main issue was the staff at the check-in. The lady at the reception was rude and fairly judgemental. I had just reached there after a 24 hour long travel with very little sleep and needed to get to work right away. I don't know if the judgement was because I had a backpack instead of a suitcase or that I'm younger than your average business traveller, but I would expect that no matter who shows up at your hotel, a paying guest should be treated with the same level of respect, which I did not get at all from your staff! She failed to note that the hotel was paid for by my employer (which was her job, not mine to point out), asked me to provide a personal credit card, did not explain any of the charges. Later it turned out that I had been double charged and then had to go all the way back to the hotel in person to get a refund for their mistake. Also took a few days to get my authorisation hold back, which also should have gone on the corporate card that we provided you details for. When I came back for the refund, I had to deal with another lady who had no idea what I was talking about, was just as disinterested and disrespectful as the check-in lady. Another employee had to come over to help me out. I also received NO apology for my inconvenience. Overall, the place was nice but the attitude of the staff was horrible and totally ruined my trip to Canberra. I will make sure to inform the university and my colleagues to of my experience so they can think twice before booking here. It is a real shame, because the place itself was nice and I would have liked to come back for a personal holiday at some point.

We booked a one-bedroom apartment for the October long weekend (2 adults + 1 child travelling) for 2 nights. The room was not ready at check-in time (2pm) and it was 4pm by the time we received a call advising us that the room was ready. Getting to the car park to park our car (complimentary with the type of property we booked) was confusing - while we were given directions on paper, there was limited signage to the actual garage itself. The apartment had one queen size bed and a pull-out sofa bed. The bed was soft and sank in the middle and the pull-out sofa bed had a thin mattress and uncomfortable. The apartment itself was nice - the property looks new and the kitchen was furnished well with a big fridge, microwave, crockery, cutlery and drinkware. There was a good size balcony, and we could open the sliding doors and windows (but no fly screens). Wi-Fi was ok. Our package included breakfast at the hotel restaurant (Bicicletta) which we tried the day after we arrived. The buffet breakfast was only continental but the kitchen staff were quite slow in replenishing the buffet (there were only 3 of them so they did the best they could). The food was nothing to write home about but the coffee was good. We went to a different place for breakfast the following day as there were better choices available. We don't believe the additional cost to our package was worth the breakfast we received. Unfortunately this experience did not meet our expectations for a Peppers property and we would look elsewhere for accommodation next time we travel to Canberra.
