Not impressed with our first room. However very impressed with our second room and the way the young woman receptionist helped us. More thought needs to be given to link coach passengers extending their stay with their room.

Over the last 7 years I have stayed at the Mantra 5 times with a grandchild. We have a great holiday together, it is a friendly and welcoming place. The kids love the night view from their room, the pool and restaurant. See you in 2020 Mantra and keep up the good work.

We had a great stay at this hotel. There was an initial issue with our reserved room, however management sorted this out and we received an upgrade and complimentary breakfast, which was fantastic. The only complaint I have is that you do not advertise a charge for undercover parking, so I was a tad annoyed to receive this bill on checkout. If I had known I would have just parked in the ample street parking.

It was clean and close to everything in city. We had to ask for toilet brush apart from that the staff and hotel were clean and friendly

No quilt on bed. Could not check in at 2.00 pm as room not cleaned yet. Room needs to be updated. In particular the bathroom.

Problems rectify when asked. Have stayed here numerous times and rooms been ok. This room needs to be updated. In consistent water pressure and temperature. Shower in bath gross.

Friendly staff, good beds and size of rooms. Plenty of towels and body care products etc but had to ask for dishwashing powder and detergent. Air conditioning was adequate but the one in the kitchen continuously leaked after a short period of time which made the area a slip hazard.

The room was ok, The taps in the bathroom leaked, The shower was in the bath, made it very difficult to get in and out. The air conditioner was not working properly.

The room was dreadful. The bathroom exhaust fan was so loud and we were able to switch it off. The room wasn’t serviced, the aircon in the room didn’t work. When we checked in the they gave us the wrong room.

Great food and service for dinner Friday 4th. Our booking said we were to have our rooms serviced 4 October but nothing was done. We were told our rooms would not be serviced 28/9 to 1/10 yet they were. Go figure. We are Mantra members and were issued 8 drinks vouchers for our 3 night stay yet when we returned for our two night stay we were given 16 vouchers including 2 in 2 apartments but none in one. Again confusing.

Great having the one bedroom apartment and water views that we booked. Extra nice that we were able to stay on the upper floor and enjoy extra views. The rooms were adequate but needing attention - shower head had flopped and could not be directed and tiles grubby. The front desk were pleasant and willing to help; they unfortunately gave us the wrong information a couple of times which was disappointing. Their attitude was fine but their knowledge of local information (re time to walk to Crustaceans and also finding medical assistance) should have been better. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and breakfast one morning and both were pleasant experiences.

First time in Darwin. Hotel location was good, and facilities were fine. Breakfast was good. Only criticism - car park access to the pool had quite a lot of debris and litter on the stairs x a bit off putting.

The bed was as hard as a rock not comfortable at all. I was disappointed when initially we were told when requesting sugar, coffee, teabags and milk that we would have to go to restaurant to get our milk. I reminded the staff member that it wasn’t a cheap place to stay and I was disappointed with the service. The staff member was kind and brought us milk and was very polite. I appreciated her helping us.

When I made my booking, a requested an early check in. I understand that this is not guaranteed and simply a request, however I received a second confirmation email a few hours after the first with the subject 'reservation amendment' which noted the estimated time of arrival as per my requested early check in (12pm) so I assumed that my request had been accepted. When we arrived to check in, I was told the room was being cleaned and there was no record of my request anywhere on the system. This meant that I was forced to drive around Darwin for 2 hours to get my toddler to take a nap in the car as I did not have a room to put him down in. Stressful, but got it done. There was no understanding or attempt at accommodation of the request made by service staff. When I returned to pick up the keys at 2pm, we went up to level 7, the corridor had a strong hospital smell to it, liklely not helped by the multiple room service trays in the corridor with scraps of food on the floor. Upon opening the door to our room (#703) however, we were hit with a very strong mouldy/musty smell in the room, like it hadn't been opened in many weeks. Given the lack of ability/willingness for flexibility provided at check in and our short stay (only 1 night), we decided to just open the door to the balcony for a few hours and hope it aired out. This made a small difference, but the smell was still pretty strong the following morning. Lastly, the room was booked as a 1 bedroom apartment, specifically advertised as having a 'separate bedroom'. The bedroom in our room only had 3 walls, so was fully open and connected with the living area/kitchentte. This meant that when our toddler went down to bed at 7pm, there was nowhere separate for us to put him/the cot. I would call this a studio apartment and not as advertised.

Had a very relaxing stay, beds were comfortable, ample towels etc in bathroom/bedrooms, spacious lounge kitchen, even a washing machine.Early check in was much appreciated, staff were friendly and efficient but best of all was having a balcony. Loved sitting on the balcony and watching the sun sets. A few minutes walk to Mitchell Street (great venues/cafes/bars etc) and a 20 minute walk to the Wharf precinct & deckchair cinema. My only suggestion it to spruce up the bathrooms, grout needs replacing and so to does the caulking around the bath (it just makes them look a bit shabby when they really aren't that bad). Would be happy to stay again.
