I was somewhat put out when I was ask to pay when I checked in - because I had payed on line ! I had to show my email to prove I had payed! It took about 15 mins, standing near the door, which was cold, we were tired and just wanted to sit down. To top it off the lift wasn't working, so two flights to climb! The aircon didn't work either. On a good note, the breakfast wad nice and fresh, shame the tomatoes had gone! To be fair the staff were all very nice and friendly.

On the downside, on my arrival I found the double room I'd booked was really too small, more like a single room with a king sized bed in it, leaving hardly any room to move around in, and the facilities to hang and store your clothes were inadequate, they was also no hot water so I had to make do with a cold shower after a long drive. But on the upside, the place was clean enough, the bed was comfortable, the staff were very helpful and polite and the breakfast was enjoyable with plenty of choice.

Room with KING bed was lovely and spacious. However, it really is unnecessary to have such heat from three sources in the room on arrival. Breakfast was adequate however, the breakfast room was too small and you could not move around without being knocked into or moving others to get to the food server.

Our weekend away was ruined. Since our arrival, our shower was running cold water till the morning of our check out. Staff kept lying to us that its been sorted, to wait for 20 min and it never run warm, but we had to go out. We went out without a shower after a long journey to the place, came back and couldn't shower before bed as taps were still stone cold. Staff on duty that night came across rude as we had to call three times within an hour after every 20 minutes because he was also lying that it will run hot water after 20minutes as he had sorted it. In the morning when we wanted to speak to somebody about it, she also had another story about why tap was running cold. When we demanded to speak to a senior staff or a management member, she said there was no one and that a reprort has been made to the manager who will contact us within 48 hours and has still not contacted us after 72hours. How rude to send me a customer satisfaction survey. We checked out next day tied from lack of sleep resulting from not having a shower before bed. How awful to travel for relaxation for such an experience.

We have stayed at the Ibis Oldbury four times recently and we like it a lot because of its clean and smart but informal and functional facilities and service. However, last weekend there were some problems. Firstly, having returned from working on our daughter's new house there was no hot water for a shower because a guest had left a tap running for a whole day. Secondly we we redirectly above the function room and there was a large event taking place. Our room was shaking to the sound of extremely loud music below. The member of staff on duty told us it would stop at 11.00 pm prompt. It did but it was extremely annoying. The member of staff kindly gave us our evening meal at the hotel without charge. After 11.00 pm there was loud shouting between a male carrying a bay and a female. They were in the room next door. There's was much swearing and aggressive language. We were concerned for th safety of the baby and the woman. There was a strong smell of cannabis smoke from the room. The member of staff on duty arrived quickly to sort it out and we even offered the member of staff help. The woman and the man plus baby left the hotel soon afterwards. It was quite an eventful night, On a the positive side the breakfast was good, however the evening meal was just ok. The chicken salad was made from pre cooked chicken which was quite dry and the curries were fairly basic. Having said that they were complimentary and even if we had paid for them they were inexpensive. Menu may be worth a rethink.

All members of staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We asked for a quiet, double room and were allocated one. Well done. Connor in the gym was also very helpful and friendly. He greeted us everytime we visited and took the time and trouble to set up the machinery for me and checked on my progress. A good selection of food was available at breakfast. I do not know what could have been done better to improve on our stay. Well done and give yourselves 5 gold stars. The goody bag was appreciated and devoured by both of us.

Overall good. Air con wouldn’t go below 18 degrees which was a shame. Pillows were not good for me. Noisy guests near me at 0300. Breakfast can be difficult when busy as waits for tea/toast allow other food to go cold.

What a pleasant surprise the Ibis Styles Oldbury turned out to be! The staff are lovely, very helpful and friendly. The receptionist came over to book us in while we relaxed in the trendy bar area, she even gave us a bag of pick and mix sweets each! The room was relatively small but perfectly adequate and the king size bed was perfect! We asked for additional pillows and they arrived at the room very quickly. The only negative was that the room was very warm and despite the hotel information pack having aircon instructions the room did not have aircon however we did have an opening window which meant we could keep the room cool enough. Overall very satisfied!

The staff were very helpful and friendly, the rooms comfortable, and the decor contemporary and eco friendly. We appreciated the efforts made not to waste products in the rooms - just one towel, one hand/body/hair wash etc. Nice seating area in reception and by the bar. Excellent breakfast - cooked & continental. Very reasonably priced accommodation.
