I would love to say that my stay at your new Mercure Rouse Hill was amazing, but unforgettable is more fitting. As an anniversary treat and a night kid free, I booked a room for my wife and myself, on arrival I was upgraded to a suite. All very nice, great looking building etc. We headed off to dinner and a comedy show down the road an arrived back around 11pm. We enjoyed a drink in the lounge area and reminiscent about our 18 years together, headed to bed around midnight. The room was soooo hot. I attempted to get the air conditioner working (many times). But nothing. The vent in the lounge area was barely putting out air, and the bedroom was stuffy and uncomfortable. Out of frustration I slept on the 2 seater lounge. When checking out I mentioned the air con issue to the lady at reception. Firstly I was asked if I knew how to use an aircon. I informed her that I work from an aircon company, so yes. And was rudely told that I should have called them (at midnight) because it’s 24 hour reception. “Because there is nothing we can do about it now”. Having someone come up to the room to service the air conditioner at midnight wouldn’t not have gone down well with my wife. It’s a new building, it’s a new system, i didn’t pay for a $50 backpacker room, I would expect for the air conditioner to function correctly. I left feeling very disappointed in the experience. Over the long weekend we had an annual camping trip with 10 families our kids have grown up with. I wasn’t going to write a review until I overheard my wife telling the group about our anniversary. Adding that staying at the Mercure was a total waste of money and ruined the special night. So thanks Mercure. Unforgettable.

2 pillows and the bottom sheet on one bed were highly fragranced with women's perfume, not a byproduct of washing. This made me question whether the bed was changed. I am sensitive to fragrances so this gave me a headache. I needed to swap twin beds with my travel partner. If she didn't fall asleep easily I would have requested the sheets be changed. I had to remove the pillows from the room. The road noise was loud, and interrupted my sleep. There was unnecessary extra light bring emitted from switches near the bathroom that I was not able to eliminate, so the room wasn't dark.

Disgusting and extremely rude experience at check in dew to a minor problem that could have been handled so much better

Having said that, please note that Accor membership card could only be used by the eligible holder. If you do make a booking under your name, you must accompany or stay under the same reservation to be able to validate your membership. Unfortunately in this particular situation, we were not able to check-in another guest under your name as you were not accompanying nor were you staying in the hotel. The staff had to follow protocol based on the stipulated guidelines. To avoid this happening in the future at any of the Accor properties globally, I suggest you apply for a supplementary card for your spouse/partner. At Mercure, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. I am an Gold Accor Member and have stayed at the Mercure now twice - was given an upgrade last time and it was excellent for the extra space in the small bedroom off the main room. The staff were very friendly and courteous. We understand that you will be building a bar at reception which will then allow you to provide the extra little things that are given to Accor Members in other hotels - drink voucher, water etc. It would be great for Accor Members to be able to take advantage of their dining discount at The Fiddler - if that is where guests of Mercure would dine.

Very comfortable stay. Will definitely return in the future!

We were travelling to Sydney for one day, and our first appointment of the day was in the Hills district so it made sense to stay at Mercure Rouse Hill. The hotel is brand new and beautifully appointed throughout with modern interiors (including an extremely comfortable bed). The Reception staff were friendly and welcoming, and very helpful. We only stayed here for a few hours, but we'll definitely be using Mercure Rouse Hill for future trips to this part of Sydney.

Very clean, well appointed, modern, the one staff member we encountered was very helpful. Parking was tight, and my only concern was that we were room facing the road, and not being use to traffic noticed road noise. Ear plugs may be helpful.
