Clean hotel, friendly staff

Very accommodating with early check in. Well appointed room, seaview from balcony. Bed was comfortable, but mattress bounced too much when one of us moved. Very poor service in restaurant.

Poor service & value for money.

Overall customer service from serving staff in restaurant was slow and on several occasions duplicated drink orders . Clothes hanging space totally inadequate - suggest you downsize the kitchen area to allow more space for hanging clothes.

The staff are lovely. The place is modern and very clean. The pillows were really good (a common weak spot for hotels) and the pillow menu was a nice touch My only real issue is one you probably can't do much about and that's that the building is strangely noisy. There are a lot of mechanical/plant type noises in the night and I ended up using the aircon to create white noise to cover it.

Room was great was quite. Bar and deck awesome. Bistro for dinner was not as expected of a 5 star hotel other guests were inconsiderate with their noisy children, couldn't wait to get back to our room away from the noise

Not bad except for an incident that occurred with the cleanliness of the room which I have already advised you of via email.

Liked the view from room and pool. Staff were friendly. Cleaning is not done properly in rooms and floors are dirty. A request for information 3 days before my stay was answered 3 days into my stay, which was way too late.

Nice place but not meeting potential. Love the TV applications though!

I stayed here for two nights in August visiting from Canberra. First impression was WOW. Our room had an absolutely beautiful view and a great big balcony to look out from. Loved the oversized sliding doors which meant we could open the room up completely to the balcony. However, there was no comfortable furniture to enjoy the balcony on. The wire chairs with the small table are too uncomfortable to sit on for long periods of time. You definitely couldn't sit out there to read a book! I recommend putting some more comfortable chairs and maybe even a lounger so people can make the most of the view and the huge balcony. The room itself was spacious enough and had all the bits and pieces in the kitchenette that one would need so it was comfortable. However I understand in a friend's room there was unfinished walls, and nails and screws hanging loose. My biggest plus was the view and the television app that allows you to connect your tablet or computer to the TV. While it was a little complicated to set up, once it got going it meant we could stream a movie from netflix which was just what we needed after a long day. There were a few downsides that I think really need to be addressed. The lift - there is only one lift in the hotel and its SLOW. SLOW. SLOW. Its constantly being pulled from floor to floor not only by guests but by staff as well. There is no service lift for the staff to use so staff were always using this to come up from the basement storage or between floors. This means there were more than just the guests competing for the one very slow lift. The worst part about this is that there were no stairs we could access. I was told these were locked and couldn't be used for general use. It felt so frustrating that you couldn't use a flight of stairs to go up one or two floors, and had to stand waiting for the lift for 5 plus minutes. This really needs to be fixed somehow. The only other issue was breakfast. We had pre-booked a $1 breakfast which on the first morning worked fine. We walked right into the restaurant and got a table and food came out in pretty good time, the food was nice and coffee was hot. The second morning was the complete opposite. We arrived and were asked if we had a booking?? At no point during check-in were we told we should book a table (as hotel guests for a pre-booked $1 breakfast). When we were finally given a table, we were told food would take 30 minutes from the kitchen as it was so busy. The food took 50 minutes. Our coffees took 30 minutes. I understand it was fathers day and the restaurant had lots of guests from the general public, but we were never told that we would have to book. I think for hotel guests to be told there'd be breakfast, then have to compete with the public (and still make checkout by 10am) is ridiculous. There needs to be a better system. Whether its a number of reserved tables for guests (or even serve breakfast for hotel guests on the rooftop which is not being used at that time (although not sure how you get food up those lifts!). Overall i'd like to come back to see if these things can be improved as its a nice location, with new modern rooms and a lovely view.

A Wonderful Weekend Stay

Netty Couples - 04/09/2019 AccorHotels review

Stayed from Fri-Mon, and was pleasantly surprised with our room and the Sebel overall. I did request no room service after the first night which wasn’t relayed to the house keeping staff, I didn’t particularly like the unpainted roof and the lack of eating utensils was disappointing, but overall would recommend to friends and stay again, if we get up to Margate again!

A wonderful relaxing time with a magnificent view.

Admittedly it didn’t start well with no one at reception on arrival and a bad experience at lunch in the Beach House to follow. Thankfully it did improve and we were compensated in the restaurant for which we were very grateful. We were also allowed a late checkout with the ability to use the pool there after which was fantastic and greatly appreciated as it was a beautiful day. It put the cherry on the top for us after a magnificent one night stay. Thanks to all at Sebel Margate.

We really enjoyed the location. The rooms were very comfy and the balcony was a real bonus for extra space and nice views. Had a couple of drinks at the bar where the staff were very friendly however the yuk smell of old oil from the kitchen was off putting. Luckily restaurants are close by and very good.

Very pleasant weekend spent at the Sebel Margate

Enjoyed our 2 night stay. Great rooftop bar and pool. Lovely oceanfront room with amazing views. Friendly staff at reception. Main restaurant understaffed and had to wait too long for service and meals. My first two choices of main meals were unavailable. Didn’t get dessert because they closed the kitchen early.

Pricing was very good, nice room with ocean views but was incompletely fitted out. There was a microwave but no crockery and the cutlery consisted of 1 teaspoon 1 bottle opener. Service was sporadic: staff forgot to service room on day 2 of a 3 day Dining staff were not very helpful and did not listen properly to food orders given. This hotel has much potential but needs to attend to details.

Not to high standard

Rooms are dark with low ceilings, internal elevator takes forever to arrive, 3 bar men at the bar panicking to prepare 3 drinks. Asked me what JD and coke was. The only highlight was breakfast, service and food are outstanding.

Great rooms

Can not fault the hotel. Rooms are well equipped. The kitchenette is brilliant, bathrooms beautiful (except the bathroom sink was WAY too small),bed extremely comfortable. If i had a complaint it would be that the fridge was very noisy. I was just unlucky when I stayed that thoughtless guest were also staying on my floor and i got no sleep until 3am.
