The location is good, and the stuff was very friendly. The breakfast was good, especially the croissants.

Too noisy to get a good night's sleep.

All fine except noise. Perhaps a warning on the site?

Nice minimalistic hotel rooms with all necessary equipment. Excellent breakfastbuffet, but it could use a fruitserving.

Severe rain water ingress through ceiling boards in the room

Andrew L. Business - 13/06/2019 AccorHotels certified review

Upon my arrival in Den Haag (a place I visit annually for business meetings) on Tuesday 4 June, after a more than 15 hours journey (door to door), I was told by the corporate hotel which my company travel agent had booked that one of their staff had inadvertently cancelled my reservation. As the hotel was full, they contacted Ibis Berlage which had available rooms, for which I was grateful. Hence, when I was given what looked like a room in the attic (Rm 402), I quietly accepted it as I was feeling quite desperate. Rm 402 had a sloping ceiling and a pillar sticking out in the middle of the room and a shower area with a glass roof which allowed for some natural light in an otherwise windowless room. A few hours later that evening, it started to rain quite heavily. As I was very exhausted from the long travel and jet-lag, I went to bed early. At around 9.40pm, just when I was falling asleep, I suddenly realized that the pitter patter of the rain seemed to be getting louder and sounded like it was in the room. In my half-awake state, I got out of bed to turn on the lights. To my horror, I saw a huge discharge of rain water through the ceiling boards and the entire floor was wet. I scrambled around looking for a phone to call front desk only to realize that there was no telephone in the room. After hastily putting on my clothes, I ran down barefoot (as my shoes were wet from the rainwater) to inform front desk, and the staff responded immediately. We rushed back to the room, and I quickly packed up all my belongings, while he stood at the doorway (probably himself in shock). He promptly transfered me to another more comfortable room (Rm 302). I finally was able to get over the shock myself to get back to sleep. To my bewilderment, at around 12+ am, another guest who had obviously just checked in entered the room; I can only surmise that the front desk staff had failed to enter in the system that they had transferred me to Rm 302. Suffice it to say that I was not too amused after what had happened earlier. It is the most bizarre experience I have ever had in my more than 20 years of travel through many countries in the world (including less developed countries) and having stayed in many different hotels. I was also left wondering why I was put in the attic room when there were other more comfortable rooms available in the first place - although I accept that "beggars can't be choosers". At the entrance to Ibis Berlage, there was a sign that read "Expect the Unexpected". I have to say that Ibis Berlage (albeit a most charming hotel in a very good location) definitely fulfilled that promise and made my stay the most memorable in my life (but perhaps for all the wrong reasons).

I really enjoyed my stay at Ibis Styles Den Haag. While the room was quite small, it was functional and clean. The staff was extremely friendly, they were really invested in me as a customer.

A small room but fully equipped. Great view of de grote kerk. Strange shower ... no tea/ coffee in room but available 24/7 in reception. We liked it and will stay again when we next visit

Relaxed stay in a beautiful building

We received a friendly welcome, and greatly appreciated being told that we had given an upgrade to a city view room. Room 308 was had good storage space, a coffee machine and kettle. We were impressed with the bed which was a good size and very comfortable. We were surprised with the bathroom arrangement, it was a good size, but the wash hand basin was in the bedroom not the bathroom. The door between the rooms was a slated style swing door that could not be closed fully or locked. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere throughout our stay. The beautiful old building had been sympathetically adapted into a modern hotel. There was a good selection at breakfast, the buffet table was kept replenished by the happy staff team who always had time for us. We would question security. Anybody could use the lift from street level up to the accommodation area without needing to go via reception or need a key card. Thank you to the staff team for making our 14 night stay comfortable and enjoyable.

Beautiful, but oh so noisy!

Kate Business - 15/05/2019 AccorHotels certified review

The is a beautifully designed new hotel in a wonderful old building. And there lies the problem - the windows have single glazing only, which results in every noise from outside (and it is a busy, noisy area) entering the room. It is also rather draughty and cold, for the same reason. Nice as this hotel is in other ways, don't consider it if you want a quiet place to work and/or sleep!

Very pleasant stay

My one night stay was very pleasant and I slept well. The hotel is in a convenient location and despite being near a church, I was not disturbed by any chimes. My only comment is what is the point of online check-in when you still have to go through the whole process on arrival? I can't see any point in this....

Wonderful hotel in a gorgeous renovated building.

I was apprehensive given the low price but the hotel and staff exceeded my expectations. Beautiful building, good elevator, charming staff and a nice corner room made my stay wonderful. Breakfast was good if a little sparse when the larger crowds descended.

A little awkward but satisfactory.

Eneimi Business - 09/05/2019 AccorHotels certified review

The layout was a bit odd initially, having to go up a flight of stairs to get to the reception. The door handle to the main entrance was broken! It turned out all the available space was really being cramped to accomodate the reception, 'lounge', dining area etc. The room was cozy, a bit noisy as the window pane or something behind the curtain seemed to vibrate now and then. But it was clean, comfortable and had the basics - just the basics. Staff were friendly and wore smiles mostly. Breakfast options seemed limited, but I'm not too finicky about that and had a simple splendid meal. I arrived about 11:30pm and would have loved for a fridge with some basics that I could snack on before going to bed - I had to walk 15-20 mins before I found an open diner.

Good hotel, service can be improved

Hotel is good and nicely located. Room a little cold. Staff has problems understanding the customers. I booked the room on the Accor app but the app did not store the booking properly. After phoning the hotel and agreeing on the same price of the app I got the confirmation email with a 30% higher price. Have ben able to negotiate the price to the first quoted value when I arrived at the hotel. Then wanted to extend the stay for 1 night and was quoted a price of more as double the night before. With help of app and long talks we managed to get the price to a reasonable level but needed to move to a different room the next day. After packing all up we arrived in the evening again to be put back in the same room as the night before (why did we have to pack all out stuff) only the room was half cleaned (no clean towels) Very slow in cleaning the breakfast tables so there is most of the time a shortage of clean tables. As we need to be in The Hague again the next week we wanted to book for another 2 nights but left it as the staff quoted again a price more as 30% higher as in the Accor app. As the hotel is new I believe the staff need to still learn what customer service means.
