The oldest hotel I have ever seen, the bathroom in the first room they gave us was so disgusting we had to move the room, then there are no elevators and our room was 1 floor down, help with the luggage was given but only after asking. Same when moving the luggage back to the new room. Which was on the main floor, so why not give us that room in the first place instead of having to carry 2 big suitcases plus 2 carry ons in the first place. The bathroom in the 2nd room was better I guess not being used so much as it was a room for disabled but still not up to standard, we kept the room as we did not want to move again and figured it would probably look the same everywhere. The reception staff was very annoyed by us wanting to change the room. The pizzeria from the hotel is also not very good. Poor menu for an Italian place and definitely not worth the prices. Breakfast was also nothing like the usual I am used to from your hotels. At check out I asked to pay with a different credit card than given at reservation and was told that it is not possible because it was already charged, which it was not. I get immediate notifications when my card is charged so it definitely was not. I could pay the extras with another card though. He gave us a bill for the extras only. I asked for a bill of the room charge which was when he realized that the room has not been charged yet. So I wanted to pay with the card that I paid the extras with and was again told it was not possible, instead of just swiping the card I had in my hand he actually tipped the card number that was given at reservation manually. The best part he did not even wanted to see that credit card, did not check it at check in or at time of charge at check out. It could have been just anyone's card. I was really outraged but he did not care. We asked for a taxi, which we waited for an hour. After 30min waiting we asked if he had actually called the taxi and asked to please call again. He said he already did there is nothing else he could do. I used to book your hotels alot but do to increasing lack of service I became less and less so I went from platinum to silver and now you assured me once again why.

Should not be part of the Accor group!!

The only problems were getting there from the ferry port in the evening and getting to the railway station in the morning. There appear to be few taxis in Civitavecchia. A taxi to the hotel from the port was 50 euros!!! I suggest that the hotel offers to collect guests, by arrangement. The hotel was great.

This was only for a couple of nights and having stayed at Mercure Hotels in the past I sort of knew that standard would be decent but was unfortunately disappointed with what I can only describe as "sorry state" for this once upon a time probably a gem. The entrance to the hotel gave me a pre-warning of what was to come, the road/access was in dire need of attention. Checking in was very good with friendly staff and very helpful. The room (Superior double room) was like taken out of a 70's film set. No international TV channels and in general very dated. Bed was just about OK for 2 nights. The restaurant however was a great experience, especially if you enjoy seafood, the dishes was great and decent selections/choices A bit on the negative side they seemed to be understaffed as clearing tables etc. took very long and not very attentive. Also same in the breakfast restaurant, not very good with clearing tables, not topping up and refilling of the buffet which was OK in terms of selection. No means of cutting bread/rolls. Cheap juice, being in Italy I would expect freshly squeezed Orange juice. Soggy pastries and hot items for breakfast was cold half hour after breakfast opened. Staff in restaurant(s) in general very “laid back” but friendly. No condiments on the tables, had to ask for everything. With a proper makeover this Hotel would be a great addition to the Mercure brand and I would love to come back and see it.

I thought it would be a new hotel, but I think it's just a new-to-Accor property. Nice view of the water, decent location. Disappointed that most of the nearby restaurants were closed. Unfortunately, we did not realize there was a refrigerator in our room until we were getting ready to leave. Everyone was pleasant and reasonably helpful.

Easy Check in and Check out. Lovely location with fantastic views of the Med. Evidently Mercure recently aquired this property and it is not yet up to Mercure standards. Grounds and facilities need major improvements and upgrades. Great location and lovely siting but facilities are stale. Room was clean and comfortable, as was the bathroom. Balcony furniture needs to be replaced and more electric outlets are needed in rooms.

This hotel needs some serious renovation.Do not eat at the restaurant: my octopus salad was not washed properly and served with a little bit of sand. Food is pricey compared to price and quality you can find anywhere else in the city.Hotel has only one iron to share and do not ask clients to bring it back or call once done: after I asked three times, I had no luck to get it and use it for my clothes. Service is really poor: clients are not the priority of the short team they have working there. I will not go back for sure.

I booked through the website and was quoted £62.50 per room this into euros is 70.25. I was charged 79 euros per room (we booked two). I highlighted this and was told no each room is 79 euros despite having paper evidence with price quoted. I tried phoning and you can’t get through so therefore had to pay an extra 18 euros. Also we went to get a drink from the bar and was told we would have to take it to our room as all areas were being set for meals. Surely a big hotel like this would have an area for having a relaxing drink without having to purchase a meal.
