Litetraveller TripAdvisor review

This hotel was chosen by our tour company for our two-night stay in Rio. We thought it would be a good hotel. The reception staff were not very welcoming. Our double room was poor. There were lot of dead insects in the bathroom basin and shower and the towels were threadbare. The Air-conditioning unit was so noisy we had to turn it off at night. The lifts were subject to long delays; two lifts serving 21 floors that you call separately, where keycards were needed to access most floors and sometimes stopped working meant that we were unable to access the correct floor. Breakfast was chaotic with nowhere to sit. The food offering and coffee were reasonable though. We ate at the restaurant one evening and the food was excellent as was the wine. The service was very good. The restaurant had a nicer ambience than it did at breakfast. The view from the rooftop is lovely. The location is great and close to everything including Marius restaurant which is a wonderful place to experience and eat.

Had a great weekend with my wife at the Novotel Leme. Location is excellent and chill. Belmonte bar is right next to the hotel. Cozy room, rooftop with a nice beach view and the service. Bellman Bernardo was very friendly and helped us storing our luggage, Denize and Roberto went the extra mile to help us out during breakfast. The only constructive feedback is improving the agility at the reception as there often slow lineups. Overall, it was a nice experience.

The hotel was very busy with long lineups for checking in. You can wait 5 to 10 minutes to get an elevator. The room does not get cleaned until late in the afternoon even if you ask for your room to be cleaned in the morning. The rooms are very small with no desk or chair in the room. The breakfast was good and even though the hotel is one block from the beach, it is a short walk.

No recognition for silver status , dirty rooms , blackout curtains do not blackout . Dirty bathrooms with long black hairs . Staff seems very unhappy , like they’re forced to work there. Defenitely not a service w a smile , rather w a rush.

Bad pillows

The pillows in the rooms are terrible and as sleeping well is one of the most important aspects when choosing a hotel, it was difficult to evaluate and consider this hotel at a 4-star level. We asked on the second day of our stay to change the pillows and they didn't have any other type, but they were willing to provide an extra one for each guest in the room, however, even using two pillows, it remained very uncomfortable to sleep on. The pillow appears to be made of a different material inside (like a cloth) that sinks until it completely touches your head on the bed as soon as you lie on it, causing neck pain in the following days. Even though the bed was good and spacious, we didn't sleep well. We also had a problem with the bathroom exhaust fan, which didn't seem to work, so the bathroom and towels were damp all day long, as neither the bedroom or bathroom has windows that open. At the end of the stay, mold began to appear on the grout of the tiles, which were not being cleaned. On the second day, we asked if the extractor fan was making any noise that indicated it was working and we asked them to check it and even the receptionist didn't know how it worked (whether it was making noise or not) and they didn't send anyone to check or give an opinion on how it was working. Apart from these problems, the room is comfortable (spacious), we were upgraded upon arrival to a room with a partial view of the beach (the view is impressive, as in the photo it didn't seem like you could see much, but in person, yes), the pool and the rooftop is beautiful, the location of the hotel is excellent and the breakfast is diverse and delicious. The team could be more polite and proactive. They don't even offer help with your bags when you arrive/depart and they don't greet you in the elevators, corridors or entrance, with the exception of the breakfast staff, who are very polite. The hotel provides chairs and towels for you to take to the beach (the umbrellas were not available as they said that in the summer customers broke them all and there were no replacements). In conclusion, I believe that the daily rate is above the quality that the hotel delivers.
