« Cottage on the hillside. »

Longer distances between town centre & hillside. Must to walks down on lines behind the taxi has fails the cards payments at the ATM. Cash only. Better we need to lift on the roads for the drop off at the hotel can changes the card for all cash miles.

« EXCELLENT STAY AND GREAT LOCATION »

The room was clean and satisfactory on the 3 floor and was nice and quiet. The breakfast was very good and most enjoyable. The only thought I am interested in is that when I booked in I was asked by the receptionist if I wish to pay now or in the morning after my stay. I stated that I would prefer to settle in the morning when I would be departing. The Receptionist asked for my card so as to register and asked Rio if that would be correct. I overheard him saying to register my card and to charge the amount of £113.00 now.That was not what I agreed to with the Receptionist who was only carrying out the instruction.Could you please clarify why this action was taken ? Our room was lovely with a very comfy bed. Arrived for breakfast the 1st morning at 9.05 and felt we had arrived lat and was getting in the way of staff clearing breakfast that was meant to be open till 9.30!! Felt breakfast was greasy with over cooked eggs and under cooked bacon. The few other staff we saw were helpful.

Facilities were comfortable and welcoming. I have a problem with steps but reception staff helped me with a ramp. I booked an accessible room but this only meant there were two handles on the wall. It would be far better to have a higher toilet and a walk in shower.

I use this hotel regularly and have found it to be one of the most comfortable, value for money hotels in the area. The staff on reception and in restaurant and bar are always helpful and friendly and any minor complaint I may have made over the years has been dealt with promptly and efficiently. The restaurant is good and there is a large car park. On the last occasion I stayed I held my mothers funeral wake in the Saddlers suite, this was dealt with in a professional and caring manner and I have no complaints on the service I received.

« Disappointed single bed was a folding bed »

I was expecting a double bed and a single bed. What I got was a single bed that was a small folding bed which was not satisfactory. I complained and got nowhere. If I’d known I was going to get a small folding bed there’s no way I would have booked with you. There was no mention that the bed was going to be a folding bed which was completely unsuitable. We were a grandmother, an adult daughter and one large nine year old child. We spoke with two other families who had a proper single bed. Also the room was far too hot and having tried to adjust the thermostat several times - no difference. In the morning we were exhausted. Being 70 years old and a very experienced traveller I definitely know what a single bed in a hotel should be and what we got was not as represented.

The room was very clean, the evening meal and breakfast were outstanding, the bar staff and restaurant staff were very friendly, but the reason for my low score is the way the manager, Phil, spoke to me on the phone when I got back home, otherwise it would have been a 10

Reception was great checking in and out. Breakfast was great, and a good variety. The issue was with the room. Bedding was nice, clean and comfortable. The furniture was tired. Shower very poor, head wouldn't hold, with or without water on. Small mirror broken hinge. Overall the bathroom was very poor. Not up your standards.

had a problem with TV not working on arrival but was sorted out by the reception. I was moved to another room,this was done by an extremely busy member of staff named Rio.He arranged another room for me after a couple of attempts to rectify the problem. Problems arise but it is how you deal with them that matters and he was very professional and efficient,not something you always get.

Poor. On arrival ordered food from the bar, dispite a large choice on the bar menu only sandwiches were available. It took over half an hour to arrive which meant not having time to eat it all. I booked a family room for myself and 2 children. I was informed this would have a double bed and a single bed, however, there was only one bed which was a double. There were no towels in the room, when I asked for some I was told I was wrong they were in my room, eventually, towels were brought to my room at 12:15 waking us up. Breakfast was good quality food but stone cold.

« A short but satisfactory stay »

Slight mishap at registering but quickly sorted. Lovely room. Hotel was very busy with a lot of guests so could have done with more staff at breakfast - food trays needed restocking and this took a while but otherwise a lovely breakfast and lots of it. Booking out very efficient and speedy.
