The hotel would need a bit of freshen up. There was a wedding that night and all that noise could be heard upstairs. The rooms/windows were not sound proof so we could hear every time somebody slammed the door. It has all finally gone quiet possibly around 2- 3am, Pillows were so hard and uncomfortable, We wouldn't stay there another night. It wasn't good night. Service was good though and the receptionist was very helpful and friendly.

The staff here are amazing, we felt so welcome. First they gave us a bigger room when we checked in so that we had room for the travel cot, this was without prompt. They also let my partner take our breakfast up to our room free of charge when our son was unwell which meant we could eat together whilst he slept. The only downsides was that the bathroom was slightly mouldy, I think maybe the extractor wasn’t working as well as it could; and also you can smell the tip from the hotel but not the room. I really hope the council sorts this out for them soon. The location was also excellent for us and we wouldn’t hesitate in booking again for our next visit.

We book this hotel due to it being close to the location we was attending on the Friday night, I've stayed in a number of Accor hotels over the year and I must say this has been the worst one I've stayed in. First, it seems every carpet in the hotel as multiple stains. Second, in the room there was the following problems 1, large hole in the window sill, 2, the locks on the window was all lose, 3, marks on the bed cover, 4, the water in the shower was unmanageable, 5, you could use the tap to fill the bath. Other thing to note is the lack of sign for rooms, they seem to stop once you get away from the left and no sign for the stair. There was only a fire exit sign that seems to have been hit on a number of occasion but that may also have something to do with it being low (i'm 6ft 1in and i hit my head on it). has stated before I have stayed in a number of Accor hotels even around the west midlands but I will not be staying here again.

Room was spacious with comfy double beds, although we could not seem to get the aircon working. Decor was a little tired and my son could not shower as when he stood in the bath his head touched the ceiling. Staff was very helpful . Plenty of parking available.

Good morning. I arranged booking for work purpose. On arrival the lady at reception - was lovely and worked out what would be the best room for me - for which I was grateful. However upon leaving rececption I made my way to the lift. The smell hit me first - there were tears in the wall paper - the carpet look liked it had not been cleaned/hoovered for sometime. I Got to my room - it was very hot - so turned heating down - I opened the window and struck by an awful smell (similar to sulphur). The bathroom - was tired looking. Mirror above sink - sensor was not working. Lighting in room and bathroom was very dim - not great when trying to work on lap / read, or doing make up. Cushion on bed smelled of greasy hair (only was I can describe it) - so I it left on the chair - as I didnt want to have contact with it. There was no replenished - coffee/milk on 2nd day of stay. I believed it was pointless raising this with hotel at time - as this was a good room I had according to receptionist? So naturally - I did not feel confident in expecting anything better. Sunsquently I did not want breakfast or dinner at hotel - because of above - and opted to eat elsewhere. I had intended to email - with my complaints this week - but this link has been sent - so have recorded/notified yourselves this way. Overall - the stay was unpleasant. I was staying for work. And upon return to room my purpose was too work / study. I really did not want to be distracted from this. I would appreaciate a gesture if kind will with a full refund. I dont believe this is typical of all your hotels - but I am now somewhat cautious. Your assisstance would be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards Sunita

Friendly staff but a hotel in very poor disrepair!

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful however, the hotel was in a poor state of repair with mould in my bathroom and black sticky marks on the bedroom carpet. I ate at the restaurant and it took an hour to be served a chicken burger which was of a poor quality. You also advertised fast speed internet but I could barely get a connection at all as it kept dropping in and out of service. This is not the standard I expect from a Mecure and will not be staying at this hotel again.

The walls are paper thin so you hear everything from neighbouring rooms and lack of double glazing means a lot of traffic noise

I have stay at other Mercure Hotels and was not a nice experience. However, Birmingham/Walsall hotel was excellent. Such friendly staff clean and a basic pool table by the bar makes such a difference with a few drinks. Breakfast was also great and they even let us in 10 minutes before it open time. I will definitely use this hotel again for my Walsall visits. Only issue was the noise from the traffic, not the best sound protection, nevertheless one issue is acceptable due tot he overall hotel service and set up.

Kept awake until 1130 with loud thumping musis from wedding venue. Asked for extra pillows milk and tea on booking this was not provided. Mold in bathroom. Splashes of coffee up walls. Given 1 toilet roll half empty. Room advertised as a double executive which I don't think should have had this rating. Moldy milk left in room.
