« The excellent location, comfy beds, adequate breakfast and friendly staff says everything »

Despite the building works in the lobby, it was excellent. I think the biggest problem was the bathroom. We were on the first floor with high ceilings so the rain shower went all over the bathroom wetting all of my clothes. The shower door did not work properly and the seal looked as if someone had been eating it and the tap to the sink needed instructions it took ages to work it out. Oh and the towels could be bigger and fluffier, I am just a small female not sure what a large American male would have made of the towels.

I did not realise that they had not finished the renovations of the hotel, when I did my booking, but it was very clear at the arrival, as the whole ground floor level (reception area, bar etc) did not exist. Staff was friendly, although they first charged me too much, as they forgot that I had paid part of it with my points. Breakfast was ok but very crowded - small area where you get the food/drinks. The room was ok, but very tiny compared to the photo that I had on my booking. The heating didn't work, but luckily there was a small heater, otherwise I would have been freezing - it was a cold weekend in February. I had someone coming to check it. The towel heater did not work either, but I was later told, that this was due to incidents as it got very hot?! Strange, a towel heater shouldn't get that hot. The location of the hotel is very good, walking distance to Kensington Gardens and South Kensington and very close to the tube station of Gloucester Road.

The room is small but clean and comfortable. I was given the room with patio and love it, unfortunately It was too cold for me to enjoy the patio. The staffs are nice, informative & helpful The location is convenience with Witrose, Boots & restaurants nearby and of course the subway station is walking distance to the Hotel location. I stayed 1 night and decided to extend my stay.

« Extremely terrible value for money »

You have a good hotel however, while I was there, there was extensive building work, the hotel was turned into a building site, the lifts where not working and there was noise everywhere. It would have been great for around £50 per day, however I paid £700 for 6 nights. I am extremely upset.

The hotel localisation is very good. I would say it was the main reason to have booked it again. The close underground, a supermarket and many options for eating also were important. The hotel reception was under construction, which could have been warned to guests prior to their arrival. And consequently, a discount to the inconvenience could have been offered.

The hotel is undergoing improvements. It would have been good if I had been made aware of these before booking. There's a temporary reception so no one answers the phone. The lift only goes to the 4th floor and I was on the 5th. One of my towels was stained when I got it, so I put it on the floor to be replaced. It was taken but not replaced. I checked in on line and was told by email I had rapid checkout but reception insisted on taking my card before I could check out. Which is not rapid. Really like Ibis Styles but this one was a disappointment.

The staff was really nice and supportive, overall the hotel is still under construction, which reduces the overall joy, staying at this hotel. when it's done, it will probably change. Rest was fine, room in the basement with metro sound is not ideal, but in central London, ....kind of something you have to accept.

Room was small but really nice. Heating system wasn’t working, room was heated by 2 portable electric heaters. Staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast room was small and at busy times guests had to queue to get to toaster and coffee machines. Hotel is in excellent location, 3 min walk to Gloucester Road tube station. Took about 15 min to walk to V&A museum. I would stay there again

The overall experience was good, great location and lovely hotel. Although in our room there was a loud, almost constant sound of running water whenever a toilet in nearby rooms was flushed or someone was in the shower. Also, some mornings there was the sound of hammering and drilling just after 8am. A major issue for us was the breakfast box we were offered instead of the full buffet breakfast paid for was not an adequate substitution and often came at the wrong time than what was requested.

The room was really cold .... like 15degrees and wouldn’t heat up even after having the heating on for 4 hours... Also the door to get into our corridor was fused open so we had to squeeze past it to get into our room and when I reported this to the woman at reception she implied that I didn’t know how to use a door ...

The hotel itself and staff were absolutely fine but the room we had was too small for a double bed. Our friends stayed at the same time so I know all the rooms aren’t as small as ours. You could barely get past the bed to get into the bathroom. Also there wasn’t a chair or table, presumably because there was so little space. We only stayed for one night fortunately. Bit disappointed.
