Although the hotel is going through a small revamp, it was a great one nighter. The rooms are somewhat “snug” but very clean. The staff - was fantastic- nothing too much trouble ! Got us fixed rate taxis- looked after our bags - they were first class at customer service

Although the problem that we had been given a double instead of a twin room was resolved for the first night, it took up some of our time and while this may have been down to the refurbishment - the refurbishment was nothing to do with us. I specifically booked a twin room to share with my son, so was disappointed at the inconvenience of travelling a long distance to be delayed somewhat in getting into our room. This also meant we had to vacate our room the next morning in order to be moved to a twin room - as it turned out the twin room was very, very small with the beds only inches apart. The room I stayed in the first night had no heating and the bathroom did not seem to have been finished properly during refurbishment.

We recently extended our stay with an additional night at Ibis Styles Gloucester Road checking out the morning of September 20th. The hotel met our needs and the staff was very friendly. The last night we were there the hotel experienced a power outage. While this was not the fault of the hotel, we were unable to shower or eat our included breakfast before we departed.

« Hotel being renovated in convenient location »

I stayed 5 nights at Ibis Styles London Gloucester road. The hotel is old and is under renovation, but this doesn´t disturb me. My room was old but really nice, on the back with a varanda and nice view from a private garden. The wifi worked perfectly and I also enjoyed the breakfast. The hotel is in front of a waitrose and 2 min from the tube. There is a bus stop in front of that take you to Oxford st. Although the price was a bit high, even for London standards, I enjoyed my stay. The staff was helpful.

We booked a double queen room 3 months in advance,on arrival we were told that hotel was being renovated.we were given a room in the basement which was unacceptable as it was more like a cupboard.reception said they only had one other room which was also a basement room but slightly bigger.we had to accept this as we were only staying for one night and had a concert to go to that evening.i think we should have been notified prior to arrival as we paid more for a queen room and was given no discount for the small room,it was basically take it or leave it.

Welcoming staff, small but functional room, new bathroom installation. Amazing location. Unfortunately we were expecting to use the gym but due to the renovation process it was not possible. During our stay a power problem happened and it impacted our last day breakfast and check out. However hotel manager and staff were great and provided discount on the breakfast fare. Couldn’t expect anything but a great service from this hotel brand. Thanks!

« Great location and staff, small but new rooms and shower. Loved the experience. Would stay with them again. Fair price. »

During our stay there was ongoing construction, which was well managed by staff and did not interfered with our sleep. However a major problem with London power lines happened in our last day. Again staff was great and did all possible to provide a comfortable experience and to make sure all needs were attended.

« Hotel under refurbishment - not ready for occupancy! »

Worst experience in any hotel. This hotel is in the process of being refurbished and is simply not ready for occupancy. I got a room in the fifth floor but the lift only goes to the fourth. Nice when you have a lot of luggage... Bed was next to a roof window and getting out of bed on one side meant hitting your head against the roof eave! To top it all off, I woke up on check out day with no electricity or water!! Apparently, a while wing of the hotel was out. 5am in the morning, in the dark, I had to leave for a 20 hour trip and 2 flights back home without being able to take a shower. Quite frankly an awful experience and no relief at the check out when I complained.

The member of reception staff who welcomed me was very helpful, but the rest of the experience was not up to standard. I stayed 4 nights in the London area while working at Fashion Week. I had one night at this hotel - this was my most expensive hotel stay but the least pleasant experience. The room was very cramped for the price, with broken tiles/fittings and an A/C unit that did not work and flashed most of the night. Having had a late night working I needed to catch up on my sleep but was woken at 8am by noisy decorating work outside my room. The included breakfast was decent but by my memory it was not stated in advance that this was just a continental breakfast. The free wi-fi is extremely slow and practically useless. This hotel used to be run by Best Western - I have stayed several times in the past and had a much better experience for a lower price. I payed for a good quality room and a good night's sleep and received neither. It should have been stated in advance that renovations were being carried out in the hotel and the room discounted accordingly! As I left the hotel the reception staff were busy with customers - I was in a hurry to get to work so I did not report these issues at the time.
