« Excellent stay »

Another pleasant stay. I have been staying at this hotel for the last 5 years annually. Have experienced transition from Yassat to Mercure. Raza from concierge, sorted out my son’s pushchair with the help of Waheed. Went beyond their duty to help us! Excellent housekeeping from team on floor 16. Marjorie, Joy and team at breakfast and chefs, omelette chefs were all brilliant as always. From S. family.

My experience / my family's experience with Mercure Hotels was extremely pleasing . The service the hotel gave us was nothing less than outstanding . Checked into the hotel late afternoon and was greeted by the Hotel Staff at the entrance . The rooms were extremely clean and spacious , providing my family of 4 , ample space for cleaning , eating , sleeping and Relaxing . We were proud to hear that the hotel offered sauna , steam room and swimming pool , facilities , all complimentary of the stay . I happened to use the swimming pool 4 times during my week stay and I can say it was absolutely clean and impeccable . I would definitely reccomend this hotel to anyone who is travelling alone , as a couple , and most importantly as a family . Truely Amazing . Would happily stay again .

I thought items in the kitchen were complimentary since they were there /first time going International and was charged. Not being informed was very sneaky and disrespectful. I now feel I have to be on guard when I stay somewhere.

- Horrible horrible experience with lifts, We used to get into one by chance! - Breakfast is till 11, everything is empty and no food in most of the dishes after 10.30 everyday, and we needed to ask over and over. - Friendly staff in the reception and concierge - Again, the lifts experience was horribleeeeee

Albeit my reservation/registration was completed online via the Accor website with an early arrival. However, check-in seems to always take quite a bit of time - as though I walked up, asked for a room the same day. Apparently the hotel may have been 98% or above capacity because even after check-in the room was not fully prepared. I owe an apology to anyone that may have interrpted my hurred stay; usually I don't mind a brief conversation but it just was not the time. House-keeping has always been on-point, friendly and willing to assist with most anything. Regardless, I will most certainly visit the hotel again.

The overall service quality was good. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Prompt housekeeping and quick turnaround. Only the check-in and check-out process can be made more efficient. Takes far longer than expected. Please understand that people travel from all over the world and after travelling for 10-12 hours, if I have to wait 30-45 min for check in (even after checking in online), then it is not good.

All is trying to make 100% efforts by staffs but physically it seems not to have enough numbers of staffs. Front desk is always crowded of check-in/out guests. Hundreds rooms with max. four staffs in front desk is almost impossible to proceed the check-in/out. not feel welcome, front desk is always busy. Even the welcome drink voucher only is provided after I request. No welcome fruit to my room in spite of membership. Every staffs seem to be busy for something. No process of check-in/out are set, very unorganized. It's hard to connect front desk over the phone even after over 5 min ringing.

You should allow customer to do complementary early check if they are travelling with elderly parents. Most of the hotel brand does it with good gesture but Mercure Al barsha didn't do it. As you have taken over the management from Yassat Gloria team, you should at least upgrade the furniture as per Accor standards. Over all the stay was good. Housing Keeping and concierge were very supportive

« Good but some small issues with the air conditioning and water temperature. the elevators are not good! »

Generally speaking very good. The staff was excellent including the two men who cleaned my room - Venkatesh and Valmiki. All food items were good. I stayed with you for 30 days and was able to get a good understanding of your property. The Front desk staff was excellent. The only problems were the quality of the elevators and the water temperature at the sink and in the shower. The water temperature was very hot then cold - not a great experience when taking a shower. I reported this, it was "fixed" but continued 5-6 days later and was intermittent. The air conditioning was "stuck" on high the entire time even though I reported it and it was "fixed". Because of this my rating of my overall experience was an 8 instead of 10. I moved from the Gloria to the Mercure because I'm a member of the Accor loyalty program so I could earn points. On checking out I was told that my stay was not eligible? That would be a disaster if true! I have an email assuring me that my stay would earn points.

Details make the difference. What I didn't like: No special attention as a Platinum member, zero. Asked for a late checkout which was given only till 5.30, I requested longer and the trainee said: you have to speak to a manger, but she didn't offer to call one. After check out, my internet expired and as I had to wait 2 hours in the lobby (as an extended check out was not provided), I couldn't use it, I have asked it at the front desk and they said I need a room number. Ridiculous.

Dear Sir/Madam, As a frequent travelling manager with a bachelor in hospitality management, I understand that when working with people, sometimes things or processes go wrong by accident. That is why, I never write negative reviews. This time, during my 2nd stay at the Mercure el Barsha in Dubai, I was again disappointed and I decided to share this experience with you. During my first stay in January, I was woken up by the maintenance man knocking my door in the middle of the night (with no reason) and I was refused cappucino in the morning because 'the machine was broken'. Dispite that 5 mins later the machine was normally used. During my latest visit, the 1st impression was that I arrived after midnight after a long flight and I was given a smokers room. At the check-in I inquired a robe (not too late please, as I needed some sleep), to utilize during my morning swim. And after changing my room (back at reception), the robe arrived after more than 30 minutes.. Then, at 9AM (rather late opening times) I took a morning swim, where I found several sigarettes floating in the water. During breakfast, the answer on my requested cappuccino, was once more that the machine was broken. I saw that it was on and working. Given my previous experience, I insisted to serve me a cappuccino (rather unfriendly I admit). And by a miracle, the machine seemed to working again and now a cappuccino was served (with a long face - and finally apologies). The reason I like to have a fresh coffee in this hotel, is that the coffee from the cans is definitely in top 3, worst coffees I have ever tasted. I can't blame the staff, since I got the feeling it was management policy to inform about the 'broken' machine. When I checked out, I was given no receipt. After I requested to please give me the receipt, I was given a credit card ticket. When I asked, if there would also be a possibility to get the detailed invoice, I was slowly given this too. To the suggestion to please supply that in an envelop, the reaction of your receptionist can be described as 'why is this guest bothering me so much'.. And with some sights, I was given an envelope. Concluded, all minor issues obviously, but combined I think you can understand that I felt very unwelcome by the uncaring staff. I believe that's the last thing you need in a hospitality business environment. I will think again, before booking a room again in this hotel. Yours sincerely, Johannes V. Accor member: 30…2582

I reserved room on the Accor website being a silver member of club A and should receive upgrade. Also booked 2 beds but only given king size bed. The reception staff would not budge and insisted to give me only king bed. They charged me over 65$/night for additional bed for 1 week stay. This is very unprofessional and cheating

« Spacious but Mediocre overall »

Front desk is very inefficient, always long lines. Check-in process is too lengthy and I had to wait over 30 minutes to get my room. Attitude of check-in staff is very poor and rude. The reservation department never answers as I tried to extend my stay and they never returned my call. I booked room on Accor website and asked for separate beds but was given 1 bed only. When I requested for an extra bed I was charged $65 per night. I will never stay there again. When this hotel was Yasat Gloria it had better management. What a pity for an Accor hotel to have such poor quality and customer service.
