« Beautiful hotel with character »

This is an old military building that has been recently renovated to an hotel. The renovation has been very well done : lovely pool, modern restaurant and big rooms. The restaurant also offers homemade food and service is very nice. This is an address where I stay at least once a month with great pleasure.

« Good hotel for an overnight stay »

Good hotel with the expected Novotel standard. Our only disappointment was the dinner menu in the restaurant. This consisted of around 80% burgers with the remaining 20% being the usuals: Caesar salad, Club sandwich etc. Not the sort of thing one expects on a dinner menu--nor anything regional. Very disappointing especially as the hotel's location means at least a 15 - 20 min. walk into the main part of town to find alternatives--not a lot of fun on a rainy night on badly lit roads. Also, no direct access to the underground carpark--again, inconvenient dragging luggage in the rain to the exterior elevator.

« Glad I checked my Bill in Saint Brieuc »

I have to say my experience at the Novotel in Saint Brieuc was very good until the end when my Bill was incorrect. However I did not notice it until my `card` had been debited. I pointed out the error and for the second time in a month I found my Le Club Accorhotels points discount (2,000 points surrendered for a 40 Euro discount) had not been applied [they had already been deducted from my Points Account]. I was advised by the General Manager I would have to go through a procedure with my bank so that the 40 euros could be given back to me. Having had a problem a couple of years ago with a refund from an Accor Hotel where I lost substantially on the currency conversion & charges from my bank, I decide to just have the points recredited to my Points Account. They did so very quickly. On the plus side the Staff were very helpful, the food was good & reasonably priced. Altough it was difficult to find the vehicle access to the hotel.

The hotel was very nice and the room was very cosy and confortable. Very clean and spacious place. The personnel was very kind and always ready to respond to request of any kind. Helpful, courteous staff. Light, bright rooms and breakfast area. Good breakfast offering. A more comprehensive minibar offering might be appreciated by some and I personally am irritated that, although i prepaid my room, 100 € was blocked on my card, without telling me, and is still blocked over a week later. Otherwise, an agreeable experience.
