Staffs were friendly and warmMini bar compare to last time Radisson Blu was owner of hotel was small and had less items.Special thanks to Mr. Dennis Hu ( Director of rooms), He gave very good rate and pleasant room.

« Customer care level to be improved »

I was very surprised to learn a hotel starts its renovation work at 6:30am right above an occupied room. That woke me up right away, and the receptionist even said "May I know how many more nights you're staying? The drill will be happening in the coming days. Let me arrange another room for you." And later on I took 3 trips to try opening the original room's door... there's an obvious issue of operation management and the importance on customer-oriented servicing mindset.

« Too much bleach »

Overall the hotel is nice, but when it was a Radisson it was a bit better. The towels are not very fresh, they are washed but too much Clorox. When exercising in the gym the towels there were almost unusable. Also the water in the gym was warm and on the second day there were no cups. your company needs to start paying more attention to the details.

I stayed at Mercure hotels before and I expected to see the same level of service as I saw there. Besides, Grand Mercure Shanghai Century Park can’t be called as a 4* hotel. Room facilities seem to be old, we have been provided with only three towels per person when it is necessary to provide four towels per person if you want to be called as an upscale 4* hotel. Our room looked pale and cheap, as if I stayed at an apartment equipped with furniture from IKEA. Circle mirror in the bathroom attached to the wall was not cleaned for ages, you just need to look at it from behind and you’ll see a thick coat of dust. Usually a bathroom in hotels of such level is equipped with a hairdryer, attached or mounted on the wall. Here we had got the cheapest one, bought on Taobao and put in a little box at the bath tub. Lovely! Seriously, you charged 500 RMB for that room and simply didn’t have a proper hairdryer? I believe this hotel needs to be refurbished and it does not deserve the name of Accor Grand Mercure!

« Neat and Clean. But one issue »

It was pleasant except for the one incident when the bar would not charge the expense to the room and we had to get the manager to override. I thought this was unnecessary to be treated this way upon arrival as If we would leave without settling the bill. I brought three business colleagues with me and ended up taking 3 rooms not just two so we were annoyed, other than that the stay was fine.

As a Accord member i find it unacceptable i cannot redeem points booked through an agent. This is the only Mercure i experience this problem and for me is a reason not to return. Other Hotel fidelity programs do not have such restrictions and therefore becoming more interesting to me.
