For this stay was not that pleasant nor satisfying. 1. Seems front desk staff some are new and not well-trained. After presenting my Silver membership, staff just look at it and return back without issuing the complimentary drinking voucher when I have to ask for it. 2. My request each time with preference for high floor but was not offered, perhaps new staff not trained. 3. Point 1 & 2 in other Accor hotel eg. Pullman, Swissotel, Fairmont that I often stay in other countries, their staff will always automatically upgrade me to higher floor or room upgrade. If you refer to my previous stay in Grand Mercure Century are always higher floors ie. 1820 , 1815, 1805, 1709, 1703, 1623, Then once 1313 and this time 1023. 4. Room 1023 this time in particular, very strong cigarette smoking smell in the air-con, that means some guest is smoking discreetly. Those higher floor I've stayed seems never encounter this smell problem. 5. Lift with 2 card access sensor on left & right sometimes are able to detect card, witness other guest have the same problem. 6. At around 8.30am, starts to hear drilling. 7. Last but not least, breakfast temporary relocated to 3rd level, food selection & choices became lesser. 8. Staff in other Accor hotels seems more friendly and helpful with lots of smile.

Engineering was informed to check the every lift sensor to make sure works properly. Housekeeping was informed to deep clean for room 1023. Due to our hotel have renovation plan this year, so the first floor restaurant was renovation, our breakfast were served at 3rd floor for 3 month temporary. sorry for the inconvenience caused Please rest assured that I have immediately share your comments with entire team and appropriate measures has been put in place to address the problem and prevent future occurrence. I have used this hotel for more than 10 years when transiting through Shanghai. To be honest it is no longer the standard it used to be when it was a Radisson Blu. This is not just my opinion, its also the opinion of the staff who were there when it was in previous ownership.

Renovation was very noisy. Notice mentioned that renovation will start at 9am but seems like 8am+ or even 7am+ renovation already started and it was a Saturday! Front desk staff were friendly and helpful which offset the negative impact from the renovation.

I've stayed here multiple times through out the years and locations is great, service is good, the Food is ok also but due to the last of business during the week for the breakfast buffet the food stays out for longer period of time and needs to be kept fresh and hot. What is disappointing is that the hotel has not started renovations to upgrade the carpet, paint, and overall look. Basically the rooms, hallways are getting old. The gym is not comfortable with "Rafael" dominating the equipment for personal training. I doesn't appear that the people working out were hotel quest. Why is necessary to have the gym dominated by a trainer.

It is a warm hotel during the cold winter in Shanghai. We were arranged to room 1318 for three nights on 8 February 2019. The room is well equipped and the bed sheet & towels were good and clean. One left of the big windows was found a crack that divided the window by top & down portion. The crack was covered by a 1/2” normal clear plastic tape. We feel a little dangerous at that time. On the other hand, one of the mattresses was found depression in the middle and tilt to the access between two beds. I reported the defects to the front desk staff, Mr. Cole, later on before we left to outside. We stayed the same room because no time to process, although he agreed to change the room for us but not the mattress.

From check-in to check-out everything went efficiently. The room was fabulous and comfortable, the breakfast delightful. But above all else it was the friendliness of your staff, who helped a foreigner enjoy immensely his brief stay in Shanghai. Each member of staff I dealt with went out of their way to help.
