Room was lovely but we booked a city view and ended up in a different view. The Hotel is very conveniently located at South Wharf and perfect for our visit. Unfortunately a few things arranged to make it a special visit were spoilt or didn't arrive but staff were helpful once brought to their attention.

Check in wasn't the friendliest by any stretch to the imagination. In all honesty, that just threw me off from the start. Concierge staff downstairs were very nice though.

Slow checkin, Very hard doe first time visitor to find reception, especially if Concierge unattended, as it very often was for 3days; VERY exp but good valet car park service. Compensation vouchers should auto deduct from bill, breakfast always had to wait till finished eating before I was offered Coffee/tea very disappointing.

« Lovely new, modern hotel. Great for the business traveller. »

The Novotel south wharf was a little tricky to get to thanks to construction works at the convention centre. It’s a curious entrance, with reception on the 5th floor. My room was very comfortable, despite the use of tiles and metal as is often the design with these buildings. Good work desk. The location is perfect for close access to the convention centre. Didn’t try the cafe, as there are a number of restaurants and coffee should along south wharf. Wifi was free and very fast. Nice view into the city, and the proximity to the freeway was not noticeable, no noise. I would certainly stay there again for any functions at the MCEC. It’s about 15 minute walk out the cbd.
