From the moment I arrived I felt like a valued customer. George on Concierge was excellent as were the 2 lovely ladies who checked me in and out. Room was neat, clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable. My pillow request was met and I felt safe and secure in the room.

The new feel of the hotel was a great experience. Checkin was easy and pleasant. The access to the car park a little painful as there is no direct access or valet service. Catching a cab was easy at the front of the hotel as is it’s proximity to the CBD and shopping. The AC was noisy and hard to control (adjust temperature and fan speed). Breakfast was average and the breakfast options not clearly noted on entry. Check out was easy and pleasant. The online communication and in room AV was great. Overall a pleasant experience and will recommend your hotel to others.

I and my Anaesthetist travel to Melbourne every month, this was my second time at Novotel South Wharf. I cannot fault the politeness of the staff, they are very courteous but I am not sure if I would choose the Novotel again unless some shortcomings were rectified, and I voiced these disappointments on checkout, but these I assume never reach you. They were: 1. The valet parking is a joke! And overly expensive for the poor standard of service. Every time I pull up outside the hotel, there is no one to come out to the car with a trolley and take your bags or offer to park the car. There were two staff members inside chatting, and even after a long wait nobody bothered to come out, I had to go in and ask for them to take my bags and then park the car. I have never had to do this at any other hotel in Melbourne, Australia or the world! Very poor service. 2. From the room, it was frustrating to get anybody to answer the phone - it just rang and rang until I gave up. And this was the same for Reception, Concierge and Operator, and so I was forced to eventually hang up each extension after a long time because simply nobody was answering. What if a guest had a medical emergency and nobody was answering the phone? Whether this is due to a staff shortage, or other reason, I don't know, but it is something management needs to address and rectify. This is NOT an isolated instance. We had the same issues at our first stay. 3. The hotel should also give some consideration to providing robes for guests. I had to ask. Another disappointment. I hope to hear back from you. I am very sorry that on both of your first two experiences the service from the concierge and front office teams did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. You are 100% correct that the team should be on the road ready to assist you with bags and assist with parking your call. We should also be answering the phones within three rings. I have raised these concerns with the Rooms Division Manager in order for her to address them immediately and prevent future occurrences. From toking to the stay everyone were accomodating quite well. With having organised a surprise because it was a friends birthday they fulfilled my needs and my friend was really well surprised. Really nice hotel too from decor to staff greeting and acknowledging their guests. THANKYOU!
