The hotel is located in a great spot close to shopping, restaurants and within walking distance to the heart of Melbourne. However, the customer service at the hotel is lacking in all areas.

Dissapointing Novotel Experience

Breakfast is a busy time, however its not ok for team members to be rude. We took advantage of the "eggs your way" and ordered two serves of fried eggs. What was served was undercooked and clearly the eggs had not set. We brought this to the attention of the waiter, the response was "what did you say? A few minuets later, the same waiter returned and slammed the plate o destroyed fried eggs in front of me. Day was was not better, the cooked selection of buffet breakfast was cold and tasteless. It's disappointing that both restaurant experiences were poor. The barista was amazing, friendly and made an excellent coffe for us both. Feedback on the room, not sure how old the couch is, however, it was filthy dirty with hair and who knows what else on it.

Room and check in was good. Good location. Good room service. But restaurant short of staff and took time to get a drink which was then poured from a lemon lime and bitters bottle rather than being made . Then had to ask if our order could be taken and then one meal a time came out slowly. Again had to ask if we could order a coffee. Food was well made though and tasty and hot. Breakfast food next morning though was almost cold. Not enjoyable.

Room was lovely and clean. Remote control for the tv didnt work and the air conditioning/heating air flow couldnt be changed more than just a temperature. The door signs could have some explanation if the hotel is trying something different than please clean / do not disturb! Overall a great location for that area, lovely amenities but not as good value for money as adjacent hotel
