« Need Improvement on Water Pressure »

The most important point to improve is the water pressure for hot water. I was assigned to a room at 27th floor where there was little hot water when have a shower. After complaint, a lady from house keeping showed me how to improve the pressure by turning on all taps in the room. After her departure, water pressure turn to low again. There was designated Accor Member counter in the lobby but it was unmanned. I suggest the management should man the counter or just abandon it.

« Good hotel but can be better »

Stayed 1 night for business and encountered 2 issues: 1. Ordered 1 item from Room service, 1 hour passed and nothing came, called back and got the answer from the same person who took my order "sorry, other person forgot it". Order cancelled. 2. Breakfast buffet on the 2nd floor restaurant: asked a simple question, staff struggled to answer in English, tossed the ball around to the manager who were able to provide it. Most staff serving speak almost no English at all.

« Wonderful Stay »

We had a wonderful stay. It would have been very helpful if there were some English instructions re the wonderful mall two blocks down the road. It was fabulous, with great restaurants. After the first day everything was easy to follow!

« Value for money near Hongqiao HSR and Airport »

Everything you need for an overnight in Shanghai before heading out into China - clean if unspectacular room, nice lounge downstairs for light dinner after international flight. Staff is very helpful. Neighborhood is classic Shanghai with tree-lined streets, plenty of boutique shopping in a mostly residential environment. 10 min walk from Metro station.

« Nice location but needs update »

The hotel has a nice and convenient location but needs a bit of an update. Service is good, BF is very Chinese. Breakfast is chaotic and it is hard to get a clean table and plate. Staff is very service minded.

« Need to improve Internet »

We stayed at Hongqiao Grand Mercure for 5 nights, Executive Floor Suite with all the perks. However our bad internet connection made the stay difficult for us. Upon arrival, we have asked for help and staff tried to improve by adding a router, etc. and it took hours until we were told to change rooms, to a different floor. We moved to another floor, and the whole procedure started again, but in the end there was no improvement. We were not on Executive floor any more, hence losing part of the perks such as a good coffee machine... better amenities in the bathroom etc. We had already wasted half day so we gave up. We love the hotel, location, and bedding, The suite was very spacious and a good deal overall, but if you need good internet connection for business, I cannot recommend. I strongly recommend the management to take care of this situation. I had expected a better experience since we booked for the suite on Executive Floor which cost double the regular room.

It is overall good but it is quite a bit far from centre of city and less people and less taxi drivers have experience with the routing to & fro of the hotel. I feel everything inside hotel is quite alright.but I'm not quite satisfied with the front desk officers for their help asking for dialling taxi to come for taking hotel guests, esp during the rainy morning for getting a car to go out, esp the lady officer of that morning at the front desk who was not that helpful and willing to do so.. There is a point that I HAVE TO BRING OUT there is no food supplies or to serve as there is no cafe, no retaurant, no bar, and nothing to provide for hotel guests. I have been suffered for half of the day and .the whole night thro' wihtout food. This was a very bad experience encountered then.

The hotel is new, room is clean and spacious, but still the odor of new building, location is far from the city center, the staff was kind but not English friendly, the food is amazing (beyond expectation).

The location is great. Surrounding area was decent; busy in the day and quiet at night. Staff was well mannered, upholds the brand reputation. However the room was a bit worn out. The toilet was the worse. Had the sewage smell, rust ... etc. The baby cot fell apart when I tried to move it. I only then realised the bed was only held together by a few loose bolts. Did not have proper sheets for the baby cot either. Single size bed sheet was folded and placed on top of the cot. It was not even tucked underneath the bedding. Did not dare to let my daughter sleep in the cot.

The hotel was close to Hongqiao airport and train station. It was difficult to find taxis. The good thing about this hotel was that it had washing machine and electric stove hence ideal for family trip.

Great service. Hotel needs urgently updating. Unfortenately bad WiFi. I am greatfull for the efforts to make me happy after the reservation was lost. Rooms need to be renovated. Not enough compared to the competition. Sorry.

The hotel facilities are a bit old. Servicing attitudes of staff are still good. Very difficult to get taxi. There is the washing machine in room, but without the dryer, meaning no much use can be made with it.

Premises having some tear and wear. Services and attitude of servicing staff were still good. Still good as a member price stay in. Premises is a bit remote and not easy to travel around with public transportation. Very hard to get taxi.

This is my favorite business hotel in Shanghai. I stay there 3-4 times per year for usually 7-10 days per stay. Great value for money. the street it's on has all the amenities for a business traveler for banks, c-stores, restaurants and bars. Staff here is exceptionally friendly and provides great personalized service.
