Hotel looked lovely from the outside so was very excited to see our room when we first arrived. We never get away so thought we would pay abit more than a normal travel lodge. The girls on the reception were lovely when we arrived but never mentioned the work that was going on. We went to our room at 36 and all the lights weren’t working pitch black going up and down the stairs (tripped down the stairs on the way to the restaurant) . We got to the room which was nice but freezing, couldn’t get the heating to work. We wanted to have a lazy relaxing experience so decided we would go for food and back to the room to watch tv and have a lie in and a late check out. Food was nice but the wine cheapest at £20 odd pound was awful gave me a headache and a upset stomach. We went to the bar which was nice even if the music felt like we were at a drum and base club. Back to the room the tv didn’t work no matter how many times we tried to adjust the aerial. We asked about the heating and still couldn’t get it to work. We asked to have a late checkout at 12 thinking we would have an extra lie in and then at 9 were woken with really really loud drilling and hammering. I know there was a letter stating there would be work but they said they had no other rooms. Yeah right. The place was dead and even the staff joked about how quiet it was. I would of rather been told there was no rooms available and I would of booked a premier inn. So left with a headache and not relaxed. Next year will just book something cheaper!

The Restaurant & Bar Staff were excellent and informative, and extremely helpful. Especially Shannon and Carole in the restaurant, and Jamie and Tilly in the bar. The service that was provided after our stay as we were part of a conference/training group was excellent.

As we were visiting the tour we (my daughter and I) decided to stay over night at this hotel. The hotel was clean and the rooms comfortable. I am unable to speak as to the food or the bar as we did not use the facilities. the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. On the night we stayed there were two parties happening, I have to say we did nothear a thing. The down side... when we arrived at the hotel at *:30pm our bedroom window was wide opened letting in the freezing damp air. It took about an hour to warm the room up. The bath room door had t be left open over night as the door did not fit the frame and made an appalling noise when you wanted to open it. The towel rail was not warm. I was extremely surprise that the p[public area of the hotel had NO Heating at all in the middle of winter? there were radiators but they were all turned off. I can only surmise the management are trying to save on money. At least the pool area was heated. I would stay in this hotel again, but make sure you take a cardigan.

Heating was noisy, or room was cold. Take your choice. Why was there a chair with arms high enough to prevent it going under the dressing table? There is little enough space without turning the room into an obstacle course. Shelf in the bathroom had been broken I think. Looked like the fittings were there for a missing glass shelf. This meant putting my sponge bag on the floor. Awkward trying to find somewhere to boil the kettle. None of this is difficult to fix, except when checking in at 7pm when one assumes all alternative rooms would be exactly the same. Could the hotel have double-glazing? Why was there a rolled-up sopping wet towel on the threshold of the shower? I assumed the drain was slow-running so the previous user of the room was forced to create a makeshift dam to prevent a flood, but in reality the drain was fine, so why the soggy towel?

« Nice hotel »

Very nice hotel in refurbished room only problem we had was tv broke so we told them and they put us in a new room would recommend this hotel to anyone lovely hotel. It was very close for Harry potter world very easy to book no problems with parking.Check in was very easy and speedy.
