I travel a lot for work and this was one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating - especially with a last minute change. The room was exceptional and the restaurant nearby could not be faulted. I'm already planning my next trip back.

It was my second visit to the property. It is conveniently located in the town. It is a clean and quiet room and has good amenities. Only issue I had was the pillow. It was too high for my liking. There was no option of different pillows. it will be good to have your own pillow next time.

« Very happy with the room and facilities but extremely disappointed with the In-room dining »

Our overall stay was good except for the In-room dining which was nothing short of terrible. I did complain at Reception, but was not offered any compensation (which was extremely disappointing) but we were just told that our comments would be passed onto management. We were on our way out, so I just paid the bill, but on reflection I feel quite aggrieved that we had to pay for what was quite a disgusting meal on the last night and breakfast the morning we left. We liked the location and proximity to the Ex-Serviceman's Club, shops and cafe's. Regarding the In-room dining.... on the last night of our stay it was quite cold so we ordered In-room Dining. I can remember the complete order because of how bad it was. We ordered Gyoza, Salt and Pepper Chilli Squid and a serve of Chips. Gyoza are normally steamed. What we received were deep fried, dry tasteless and hard to even swallow. Salt & Pepper squid is normally lightly covered in S&P and quickly fried. This was heavily fried, hard as a rock and almost indigestible. The chips were not too bad although not very hot and not pleasant to eat considering everything else was so heavily fried and greasy. Bad ending to what had been a pleasant stay. We both had a terrible night's sleep with indigestion and heartburn and then had to drive back to Sydney, tired from lack of sleep and with gut issues, which unfortunately will be an nasty lasting memory of the trip home. We also were very disappointed with the breakfast we ordered for the morning we left. Firstly, especially after paying $5 for "tray-service", we received our breakfast in a brown paper bag. The cereal/granola and fruit offering was in a plastic container (pretty ordinary) and there were no spoons. We expected a pot of tea, but instead received tea in paper cups with tea bags. The cups were large and 1 teabag did not produce a nice drink at all. We did later find 2 more teabags in the bottom of the brown paper bag but it was all too late. Overall, considering the breakfast option was not cheap, it certainly appeared cheap and nasty, especially reiterating a $5 tray service charge... quite shocking and not up to normal Mercure standards. If we were to stay again we would definitely never use In-room Dining again.

Enjoyed the stay but had an issue with the bed. It was too soft for my husband and I. We also thought the cost of breakfast was a bit steep. When I booked they was no deals eg breakfast included , which may have helped to keep the price lower.

We had a nice room which was well presented and equipped. We found the parking a nightmare. The spaces provided in the hotel lot were too few and if you were lucky to find one, it was extremely narrow.

We stayed in a King Deluxe room and found the accomodation very spacious and comfortable. The room was very clean. The Mercure was also very close to the shops and restaurants, all within walking distance. We could go to the Greenhouse for breakfast which was very nice. We would definitely stay there again.

The two bedroom suite was comfortable and enough space for two couples - another couch/armchair may have been helpful in the lounge area. Good that each bedroom had its own en-suite. Great bathroom and amenities, bit strange that there was no body lotion though. Warming lamps and aircon was also particularly helpful. Would have been great if it was possible to check-in a bit earlier, but understand that it was a busy weekend and we did not arrange prior. Front desk service was adequate.
