« Car parking is abysmal »

Overall the room was good however, the service each day was inconsistent. Different levels of service and cleaning of the room each day is not conducive to satisfaction. Service should be consistent. Was charged for a chocolate from the mini bar which I replaced the following day. This is unacceptable. The car parking at Templers Mill is terrible. The car parks are ridiculously close and dents to guests vehicles are inevitable as the vehicles are parked so close as to make other guests hitting vehicles with their doors almost impossible to avoid.

A friend and I stayed in a twin room. It was slightly smaller than the photos on the marketing material suggested but fine. The staff were very helpful with where to go for a drink and wineries. Only downside was our room (401) was closest to the road and was quite noisy.

We only stayed for one night but were very impressed by the size of our room, the amenities and the cleanliness. The bathroom was very well designed and the shower featured two shower heads, one a rainwater overhead unit and the other a normal wall mounted unit. An Exceltastic added to the comfort and was very warming after showering.

Was very impressed with the newly refurbished bathroom and rooms. Cosy, and with all amenities. Friendly service. Only downside- having to go to the club for breakfast and not being able to use our dining discount for it.

« underwhelming winter dinner menu »

Apologies for the criticism, but the changed dinner menu ('winter menu' apparently) in the Greenhouse restaurant was very underwhelming. While it's supposed to be a fine-dining restaurant, the menu and food resembled more like that from a pub (unlike the previous menu which was beautiful and delicious)...and surprisingly, it seemed a little costlier than the previous (better) menu, which does not make sense at all.

« A little gem »

This is the fifth time we have stayed at the Mercure in Orange. We always upgrade to the newer section as it meets our needs. the rooms are of a great size, the bathroom is fabulous and the staff are so friendly. The Mercure is well located to everything in Orange. the club next door is more than a club. We will be back as it is our choice of accommodation in Orange.

The staff were lovely. The hotel was full that night which unfortunately meant we couldn't change rooms. There was no exterior windows in the room (only a windown onto an internal hallway) which made the room very dark and small. I think this should be made clear on the room description as it is not the standard I would expect of a Mercure. Additionally, other guests were partying and runniung between rooms and slamming doors until midnight. Not exactly restful... The Greenhouse and RSL next door were excellent though.

The first night my husband and I stayed was in a king room it was perfect. However the second night we stayed in a queen room which was also good but I kept hearing a door slamming so that was annoying other then the Door noise we enjoyed our stay.
