« Four night stay »

Stayed here for 4 nights with my husband and daughter. Reception is nice and the staff are very welcoming at all times.Room was clean and maid came each day,made bed and fresh towels if needed. The neighborhood did not look too safe but fortunately we did not have any problems. There is a metro station and bus stops close to the hotel, very easy access to the center. Negatives: The room we got was not the one that was shown on the pictures. Very small elevator.

« I would expect more even from Ibis hotel »

I did online check in, requesting 2 additional bath towels. They were not in the room. Room had molds in the bathroom as well as some "hair" and the doors at the bathroom were broken.. We were literally not able to close the door. There was available free mobile phone to be used, unfortunately in was not charged and there was no charger so it was totally useless.

The room was clean and as described, it was however up a back stair case and had an odd double door (fire regs?) configuration. Staff were pleasant and helpful Good value for money although I would rather have been charged in GBP because the euro charge added currency fees; being a large worldwide group you can probably mix and match currencies or at least be exchanging at the market rate as opposed to consumer rate.

« We booked well in advance of our visit, but when we arrived the receptionist seemed to have difficulty in finding us a room. »

Apart from some anxiety over the apparent problem of finding us a room (in the end we were allocated the room for disabled visitors), the rest suited our needs nicely. Good breakfast. Handy location.

« Very poor experience in hotel, broken toilet and poor layout. »

- Check in was very poor we were sent between two buildings several times to access the hotel and leave our bags. - No access to rooms till after 2pm. - The lift to upper floors was nothing short of a disgrace. - The toilet in the quad room did not work during stay, this was reported and supposedly fixed on multiple occasions. - Hair dryer in quad room also did not work.

THE ROOM WAS LOCATED IN BACK WING WITH VERY DIFFICULT ACCESS. LIFT WAS VERY SMALL. IT COULD NOT EVEN ACCOMODATE ONE PERSON WITH LUGGAGE. MOST OF THE TIME LIFT WAS FILLED WITH ROOM TOWELS. ONE TIME WHEN TWO PEOPLE ENTERED, LIFT WENT DOWN DUE TO LOAD INSTEAD OF GOING UP. THE BATHROOM HAD A PECULIAR BAD SMELL. EVEN BATHROOM SUPPLIES WERE NOT REFILLED PROPERLY. BREAKFAST ROOM WAS STAFFED BY ONE PERSON WHICH WAS INADEQUATE TO HANDLE THE LOAD. OVER ALL WORST EXPERIENCE EVER IN A IBIS HOTEL. ONLY POSITIVE THING WAS COURTEOUS STAFF.

« Another good nights stay in your hotel »

I had a very enjoyable overnight stay in the hotel. Very nice room and the usual selection for breakfast. The staff were very helpful and efficient. I can find no fault with this hotel, except the Handy device in the room had been left to run down and I could only charge it up a little, although I am still learning how to use it, as I don't use a smartphone and they are a mystery to me without an instruction manual, but that is only a small thing, and not very important.

This hotel is located across from Gare de l'Est and in easy walking distance of the Gate de Nord. There are a number of Metro and RER lines, which will allow quick and easy movement around the city. There are numerous restaurants around the hotel.

Overall, had decent experience. Staff are good and location is good in terms of access to public transport, cabs etc. Area is itself is bit rough, but your staff guided me on this. Front desk staff are good, special mention to Malika and Alfa who helped us with all queries and help asked. Cleaning staff is good, they did make an effort to keep the place clean and tidy. The guys who manage the breakfast place Elie and Arnaud are really friendly and helpful. I was there for about 11 days. Initially I didn't opt for breakfast, then they gave me an offer of reduced rate for breakfast. However, when I was checking out, they charged full price for the breakfast anyway. It was really disappointing. Also when I booked it was showing there is a safe in the room, when I arrived, didn't find any though, that's a slight disappointment as well. Other than that, it is value for money and recommend.

The staff on reception were lovely and very attentive to anything we needed - this was lovely, thank you! The housekeeping are very noisy in the corridors, in the morning. They talk very loud and often slam the doors of the rooms - when sleeping on the ground floor, this is incredibly annoying because we would often be woken up at 8/9am when we had gone to sleep at 1/2am and we had a busy day ahead! Additionally, some of the rooms are not to a high standard. The first room we were placed in, the AC did not work. In the second room, the curtain was coming off the hooks and there was mould on the walls. This side of the hotel does not represent the pictures you post online of your hotel. Additionally, you don't provide a kettle in your rooms. If I was aware of this beforehand, I would have brought my own as we like to drink a lot of tea in the UK and it was quiet annoying that we would have had to pay 2euros for tea each morning - so we didn't drink it all week. Thank you for letting us change our rooms when we weren't happy with the first one and for also letting us keep our luggage in the storage on the last day. We would use you again, however, these are just some 'pointers' for a better guest experience.

« Definitely not what I expected »

Elevator was inoperational. First night was spent in an accessible room due to ground floor location as I arrived close to midnight. Was asked to transfer to my original assigned room the next day on the 7th floor. Elevator was not even working! Climbed at whole 7 flights of stairs with my luggage. Was told the elevator will be fixed later that day - however not the case. Left the hotel carrying my luggage down 7 flights of stairs as well.

The place is basic, small but clean. Small shower room, gaps - water spilt on the floor after shower. Seemed that things went wrong all the time I was there - wifi out for 24 hours, coffee machine broken, egg boiler.... Staff were friendly but they seem to be unhappy. Maybe because things went wrong all the time.
