Check in not great as did not get requested room. Rooms nice but lacking any character and slightly worn despite age of property. Breakfast good. Pool/Beach area ok, although felt like an all inclusive in Europe, lacked the Dubai luxury and feel.

The hotel is very vibrant and refreshing in term of its interior design. The location match perfectly the theme of "Retreat". However, the construction works around it is a minus point of it. The staff are friendly and helpful, specially Dolma who helped me when I had jellyfish stung near the beach.

The rooms have no privacy as from other balconies can see directly in your room. There is no sound proof so everything is very loud and you can here ppl talking in the others rooms. Noise from the pool. View from balconies is nice but not one of the best as the sea is far and the view is blocked on the sides by the building The beach is not clean, is full of small rocks . The rooms are clean. The pool is beautiful. Some of the stuff are great others are slow and rude.

The hotel is very clean and tidy and staff are very friendly. The only issue we had was that we wasn’t aware it was a dry hotel meaning no alcohol is served, also the hotel is a little out of the way on the far end of the palm from most things,

Had a great experience. Staff all very friendly. Nasser and Hanin seemed to go out of their way for me. The hotel itself from the outside looks ordinary, the inside lobby - ordinary. There is no wow factor to the appearance of the hotel but inside the staff and facilities make up for it. Really enjoyed the vegeterian food options and gym and suana facilities. Thank you!

« Nice break, disappointing start, ok in between apart from a few issues, great food »

First of all this was to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary, as we are residents in the UAE (RAK) we often take staycations to Dubai etc. We booked a Sea view room which would have been fine, upon checkin the guy never said anything about a room change or nothing, once we got to the room our view was horrendous, looking straight onto the construction, I immediately called reception and asked what room was this, oh we have upgraded you to a Palm view, "Really" I replied well can you please de-grade us and put us in a sea view please as I don't want to appreciate a concrete view for 2 days, so 15 mins later that was done, that night we booked into the social kitchen, we had a great meal and were very impressed with the staff and friendliness etc. The following morning we went for breakfast, we arrived at around 9am (which is late for us) we had a great breakfast and commented on how efficiently it was ran (even though was very busy) The guy in charge Mr Abijit was running it effortlessly ensuring everyone was doing what they should (excellent) After a morning around the pool we went back to the room at around 2pm (room had not been made over) DND sign was not on, so I called to ask if the room could be made over (I left my spare key card in as I was warm and wanted the AC to continue to cool for when we returned), we left the room at around 2:30 pm and went down for the afternoon tea, again a lovely experience staff were excellent and we enjoyed every minute. So at around 4pm we retuned to the room (room was made over and looked great) but no key card. I thought no problem they must have picked mine up by mistake, so I looked outside and saw housekeeping and asked can I have my key card please. He looked very bemused and shocked, I said you must have taken my card, he then produced around 4 or 5 cards from his pocket and checked to see if any were mine on the door reader. None of the cards were mine, he seemed very nervous then. I said please call your supervisor, the supervisor came down took him into there staff room I guess and came out 5 mins later, he said he has only cleaned another 2 rooms before so maybe he had switched the cards, he checked in both rooms still my card not seen. I clearly explained to the supervisor, look if my card is missing or he had taken it "someone" could enter my room at any point (which would be registered to ME) take what ever they want and leave. Ok housekeeping can enter the room anytime but the housekeeping key is registered to them. My point is I had 1000's $ of camera equipment and laptops (which clearly could not all fit in a safe) so I was quite annoyed about this. The supervisor then took my existing card and had them both renewed and re programmed. I was clearly disappointed in this security breach as I am sure you can appreciate. After this escapade we had a rest and then decided we wanted to have a walk and then go back to the Social Kitchen for a snack, again another great meal and experience. The next morning we were awake and up and down for breakfast at 7:15 (Normal for us) there were 11 people in the area, it was very quiet, we though oh great nice a peaceful. There was no one to greet us upon entering or to seat us, no one asked if we wanted a coffee or tea, so I went up to the cooking area and asked for 2 latte, 15 mins later still no drinks, I got back up and asked is there a problem, it appeared that one was making drinks and one was serving (remember there was 11 people in at this time) I asked the guy as he was walking to the cooking area what was the problem and why was it taking so long and why was they no supervisor (as I was asking this he just turned his back and walked away) I said excuse me I don't think that is very appropriate and said it was very rude. He then replied the supervisor starts at 8am. Well the difference from the previous day was astonishing. We had our coffee (eventually) I did ask for a normal filter coffee (in the pot) that never even came, we had very little to eat and thought we would rather leave, just before we left the supervisor came (a young Filipino Allia I think her name was) we told her all of the above and she was very apologetic and tried to handle the situation very well, she kept asking if there was anything she could do, we said its ok and just explained how amazing it was the day before. She invited us to have the lunch before we left, we eventually agreed and all was good. The F&B guy Mr Abijit called over to see us (he knew the story of course) we just said it was such a shame of how perfect the stay could have been were it not for a few things.

my special request for our Wedding anniversary was ignored/forgotten, the beach is in horrible condition, i got severe burn in the sea by the weeds, or jellyfish that was sitting in the weeds, anyway, if the beach was clean that would not have happened at all!! i still have red scars all over my arm :( those nasty green weeds were everywhere and stretched from the seabed up to the water surface (which is a clear sign of being there for A WHILE!) and the depth of the water is shallow, you can't swim properly... the room was nice though, with big balcony and sea view, pool was good, too. SPA was the best!! Staff and facility is really great, and i might even come back for SPA again shame, that our wedding anniversary was screwed, but the day after we had a smoothing and sweetening SPA experience to polish it all off

My stay at the retreat was very relaxing and peaceful, the rooms where comfortable and staff very polite helpful and nice. The spa facilities where very good although for a retreat I felt the space allocated to the spa was small considering the room count of the hotel, as a retreat I expected this to be the main focal point of the hotel with an expansive space to relax and pamper oneself in.

I really liked the size of this hotel. Not too big. Great location though some distance from town out on The Palm. Great room with a huge balcony. On the sea side but the sea is quite a distance on the other side of the car park, road and boardwalk. Great breakfast and lovely dinner buffet at a reasonable price (for Dubai). Loved the stay.
