The room I originally booked wasn't ready when I arrived, so they moved me to a room with a better view, no charge, so off to a great start! The staff was always friendly, and the room was very comfortable. Breakfast was included with my promotion, and the food in Revue was great. The staff were very quick to remember my name/room number, and were always really helpful. My only criticism would be that one evening it took almost 45 minutes to get a drink at the bar (Fulton), and the pool closed at 10 p.m. which seemed early for Texas, since it was still 90+ outside and the sun has only just gone down. I've stayed in other hotels where the pool was open later. However, on the day I had to check out, my flight was later in the day, and I was given a key so I could sit by the pool until I had to leave, even though I was out of my room. I really appreciated that courtesy.

« A beautiful venue with such poor customer service that we won't return.... »

We joined the Fairmont based on top rated experience in other Fairmont hotels. We had recently stayed in Vancouver and had a wonderful experience and were excited to have a 50th Birhtday celebration with your hotel in Austin as part of a stay-cation. We are local to Austin and could have selected other premier properties. The Service at this hotel was horrific. We had drinks and snack at 6pm on Friday evening in the lobby bar and were not greeted in over 20 minutes. Once our orders were taken we never saw the wait staff again. WE would have had more beverages and food if we had been waited on properly. It was so bad, that we actually saw the waitress that was helping us remove (leave) the floor for her shift and never even say good bye or turn us over to another service rep. We never even received our bill. WE waited 20. Min at the bar in order to tell a service rep that we needed a bill from the floor service we had. She didn't seem intersted in apologizing, offering us another beverage or getting assistance. We had to be our own advocate to get our bill. This is simply not acceptable. In addition, we had a cabana and spent ample time and money tracking down drinks and food at the pool area. WE did not see a manager in this area during our two days at the pool. We were treated rudely and inappropriate by the bartender Saturday evening. We checked out of our cabanA AND everything was in order. When we we went to get another beverage at the bar on our new tab the bartender was rude... had no interest in serving us. She told us she wouldn't ever work at the hotel but needed the money... AND professed that we DIDN't pay a prior bill. (This was false). Then she made a flippant comment that the "bill" must have blown away....?"...... Are you serious.? To tell a gues who had spent over $1000 at the pool this is just so unprofessional....and truly, truly disappointing. We asked to see a manager and she was reluctant to help us. We told her we would wait and she said she couldn't find anyone for us to speak with..... The service was extremely unprofessional...unfriendly.... and much below the standard of other hotels and restaurants in the immediate Austin Downtown area. I am hopeful that I may speak with a Manager to voice my concern. I have never had such a horrific hotel experience. We spent two days of a birthday celebration with your team and never once were treated with the Fairmont service seen in other avenues of the world. Respectfully Jennifer S. 51…

« I felt like royalty »

The desk staff were extremely kind and accommodating. Every one of my issues were settled in the first encounter with them. I also have to give a shout out to the cleaning staff too. I have a habit of checking commonly looked over areas. Never had an issue. One day I forgot to put my stuff aside so they could clean. There were some papers that looked like trash that I was worried about the whole day. When I got back the staff just knew and even stacked the papers neatly on the desk. Just dang! The only reason I left a point how many things were priced. There was no option for free parking (at least I wasn't told of one), and there were no on-site laundry facilities. I understand that y'all are a high-end hotel. However, I would have paid the money to do laundry at the hotel instead of the sketchy laundry mat a couple miles away. Oh, and the $100 deposit a night was kind of surprise (due to me not fully reading the small print).

The only real gripe I had is, I'm paying all this money for a hotel room in today's day and age, and then I have to pay $30 for wifi? Even at the crap motels on the way into town they have free WiFi.

« Luxurious, but with a few of caveats. »

The room was excellent, and the service good. But there are some hidden costs, the most glaring of which is charging for even basic wifi access, something even a low rent motel will usually supply for free. The position, relative to the Austin Convention Center is somewhat inconvenient, as, while accessing the Convention Center itself is easy enough, going almost anywhere else in downtown Austin makes the Convention Center into a giant obstacle, which must navigated around.

When we first got to the hotel, the hotel had lost my reservation. Thankfully I had a photo of the total price and a time stamp showing when changes were made and my price was honored. Unfortunately I did not ask to confirm that the complimentary breakfast was still included as a whole new reservation was made do to the initial one being lost. So that's probably on me and the hotel, and since I did the reservation through passkey I had no proof of the complimentary breakfast was included due to passkey deleting the offer shortly after. The TV, Phone, and toilet seat were all broken when I got to the hotel room. They were all fixed within a few hours which was awesome but the TV did not have a proper control to switch source inputs which limited some of the functions we needed.

The rooftop pool/bar was simply amazing. The fitness facilities were carefully thought out and fully equipped!! That was huge. Location was close to everything. I would suggest to offer FREE wifi.

In my opinion, the hotel is very well put together and gives the sense that sense of comfort that they deserve. My only problem with my particular trip was that I wanted to order room service on two different occasions but the phone line from my room didn't work and when I tried getting someone to help they just informed me on what was the problem but it never really got fixed.
