« The rooms and hotel is nice but the food is very bad . »

I enjoyed my stay for 4 days however your food needs to be looked at very carefully since its quality was very bad . In fact the worst I ever experienced since I dined at all your restaurants during my stay . Your hotel management must look into this issue seriously .

Overall it was great experience, enjoyed the stay thoroughly. Only drawback was dinner buffet at canvas restaurant do not include normal drinking water which shall be purchased separately buy paying aed 25-35 per bottle.

From our TripAdvisor post: Our third visit has just been completed and we could not be happier with our stay. My partner P. and I were joined by our Abu Dhabi based friend Fiona for an 8 night stay. It was everything we had been looking forward to from our past visits and possibly more as the staff familiarity with us made the stay very personalized. We were warmly addressed as returning friends on curbside arrival and that level of courtesy continued throughout the stay. We were addressed by name by almost all members of staff with a measured mix of courtesy and familiarity..."Mr. Brian, Mr. P. and Miss Fiona". Staff were very open to share casual queries about themselves; nationality, work history, etc... I will be looking forward to seeing them at future stays and wish them the best in securing a deserved career advancement opportunity. I would like to mention some stand out from this trip. Arun on the Concierge desk is a bundle of energy and was able to recount details of previous trips relative to planning this one (car preference, number of bags we carried last time and gateway airport preference). His greetings and departure wishes are genuinely warm and natural. Parvis on reception is quietly gracious and always willing to please with any request. Christian on reception is professionally warm and greeted us with familiarity at every opportunity, often waves from the desk to acknowledge our presence meters away. Roderick at the Lava Pool offers a laid back professionalism appropriate for the cool vibe of his surroundings. The staff in the Canvas Restaurant are all professional under pressure with the very varied guest culture and accompanying expectations. Dilshod was a stand out for his discreet and flawless Silver Service style. Oybek stood out for his boundless energy and his ability to deliver sincerely friendly banter without compromising the needs of other patrons and colleagues. The facilities and staff at the Willow Stream Spa are second to none. Great care has been made to ensure the Spa is a sensory and visual oasis of calm. Rakesh is a master at his massage skill. His gentle manner and tone are a precise match for the calming surroundings of the Spa. The Public Areas and Bedrooms are still not showing any signs of wear since opening. The rooms are as fresh as when we first visited after opening. While the Oceanview rooms are touted as upgrades, we actually prefer marina view as the plaza and pool below are beautiful at night and the morning light is refreshing. Otherwise, all rooms are exactly the same within category. The have been small tweaks as the resort seeks to expand their client base... coffee shop gone in favour of a sports bar, although both quiet. I was unaware that half board options exist at Copper Lobster, but this is welcome and I will explore next visit. I have noted a TripAdvisor Review divide over the music at the Lava Pool. I think the management need to acknowledge the area may never be the hedonistic Ibiza style retreat of the Dubai in-scene. (If it did take off, so would we!) It is always very quiet by day and perhaps a less invasive play list would support the surroundings; think Spa tones or Ibiza recovery vibe. There was one good afternoon of retro favourites, but the next afternoon was heavy bass trance?! My feeling is that the Lava Pool area and the Sports Bar have not really found their place comfortably with the very varied clientele mix of quiet Ukrainian/Russian package tour families, European 40+ couples, a handful of honeymoon couples and an healthy influx of Emirati families on the weekend. Perhaps the varied culture/language/age mix doesn't lend themselves to bar mixing? We come for the quiet space. The transformation of the former Coffee Shop the Sports Bar was at the cost of some spectacular design elements in the former coffee shop. Fairmont faces a tough challenge as they try to get these expansive spaces to generate revenue without compromising the base clientele's requirements. Wishing the Fairmont Fujairah every success. We will see you again when the sun leaves abandons Ireland again.

« A hotel with the perfect staff »

We stayed with my family for a week in the hotel. The best part of this hotel is definitely the service and the amazing staff. We would like to thank Wajdi from the reception and the staff from the restaurant specially, Oybek, John, Mohamad and Head Chef Rober. The food was excellent! The family pool was nice and we'll maintained. The cleaning of the room should have a bit more attention. We noticed many times, that the cleaning was not performed well but it was quickly fixed after calling housekeeping which was great! It was nice to see, that the general manager walked around and he seemed to be a really nice guy too. That's what I call good management! We will surely recommend the hotel for our family and friends and hope to be back one day.

Great stay until the final night. As we were settling the bill for dinner, a very rude staff member said to my partner. "You should be paying for her dinner" as it was I, who used OUR card to pay for dinner. His name was Ozyek or something like that. Lucky my partner did not hear him clearly otherwise there would have been a big issue. Frankly I find it absolutely disgusting he should make a comment like that and it ruined the experience.

My stay was ok. I went to the sports bar with friends for dinner. It was very quiet. And the night club was shut which was a surprise considering I was told that the hotel was full and it was a Friday evening. My check in experience was not great. I confirmed at the time of booking that I would arrive between 3 and 4pm. The Hotel then called the day before my arrival to confirm check Time. Again I said between 3 and 4pm. I was then contacted yet again on the morning or my arrival to confirm the time. I said that I expected to arrive at 3:30pm that afternoon. I arrived at approximately 3:30pm and my room was not ready. It took almost another hour to get into my room. I had hoped to get settled into my room and then use the pool but I was unable to because check in was delayed. I was told at reception that the hotel was overbooked and this was the reason for the room not being available at 3:30pm. Overbooking is the fault of the hotel - not the guests. I felt this was really poor considering I had informed the hotel 3 times of my accurate arrival time. I was not offered anything to compensate for my inconvenience.

Welcome and check-in was good and efficient. Like the room size. I was a guest for 5 days. Housekeeping was sporadic with little attention to the details. Some days floors not cleaned. a few days water not replaced. Bathroom mirrors not cleaned. Face cloths some days others not. One whole day the room was not made up at all. Constant damp smell on entering the room. Conference food and buffets contain very few healthy options. This could be better managed for a 5 day stay. Spoke to the Manager on leaving. Nice gesture, a vague apology, no solutions offered and I didn't feel that anything would be done. This is not what I have come to expect from the Fairmont brand. Final insult - no rewards recognition with ACCOR. Most business travelers do NOT book online or directly. Most hotels offer a loyalty scheme that recognizes stays NOT booking mechanism. This has already changed my nights in European business trips with Marriott/SPG preferred over ACCOR and will now do so where I can. This is a serious impact on business stays that we redeem to reward our families for the time we are away from them. ACCOR you can do better! Please email or call me if you care enough to discuss.

« We had a great time »

We got a room on the 6th floor with a bueatiful view of the ocean and pool/beach area. The fans from the ventilation system produced annoying noise the first days until we got use to it. The Spa included was nice though the mens steam sauna was out of order and the womans normal sauna was out of order? The food was good with many choices to choose from also for europeens who don't like it to spicy. The personal were all helpful and polite. We rented a car being more mobile to visit the larger cities.

We went for a romantic one night stay. Included in our rate was a one hour third party scuba diving. This company is so bad with such a unfriendly staff that we decided not to do it. In response to our complaint the hotel offered a one hour couple massage that was like being in heaven. Another point that the hotel could improve is in the shower water temperature, that goes from full hot to full cold all the time.
