My experience was quite pleasant. Service was outstanding, and the room was very nicely appointed and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was excellent but I thought the room service food was a bit lacking in vegetarian options - but I liked what I ordered.

No one to take my bags, manager looked on as I walked in with all my bags without caring, with silly reasons as to why there were no bellboys. When I had a shower the room flooded. Moved to a different room which they called an upgrade but it definitely was not. A different floor is not an upgrade. Room didn't flood but smelled of drains. Upgrade was for room only not services. Front desk manager refused to see me off or even bothered to apologise even though it was obvious my stay was bad. In short, Mr Saddiq, front desk manager was one of the most self-centered, indifferent, lazy, opinionated managers I have every had the misfortune of meeting. Mr Saddiq should be ashamed of his behaviour and the Fairmont chain should make it a top priority to address such a horrific, failure in their service. I urge the Fairmont group to either retrain such a useless manager or fire him because as of now, individuals like him are a waste of space in what is supposed to be a 5 star hotel... It definitely did not feel like it even if the prices promised it.

water hose is not available in the bathroom on most of the rooms (which is 99.999% available on almost all Saudi Hotels) chef are not that expert, the food court missing a lot of things such as a special guy to prepare your fresh salad with a special dressing. spa is not available at the time i visit the hotel no gym for women room service was so late i had my breakfast and stay for an hour, get back to my room the guy didn't arrive yet!

Overall great experience. Housekeeping needs to pay attention to a couple of things: - Hygiene of toilet (for 2 of my 3 stays, the toilet was not clean) - Bathroom amenities: things like shampoo/shower gel are being refilled and placed in the room. More serious issue is having a used shaving kit in the room, which could cause transfer of diseases if I didn't pay attention Separately, I noticed that 365 restaurant is re-serving dinner dishes for lunch the next day. Freshness of food is very important as you can appreciate.

The design of the room has incredible faults: the magnifying mirror is too low to use it, the aircon controller is too low and difficult to see/use. While my key was correctly opening the door, the card couldn't turn on the lights properly and had to have an engineer coming twice.. One of the lift had a broken bulb and for 4 days none repaired it. The swimming pool doesn't have a clock. I already raised those issues when I was at the hotel 4 months earlier but absolutely nothing has changed.
