The staff were very helpful and the restaurant staff were great. The breakfast was excellent. Not too sure about the wedding buffet. Hog roast. Meat lovely but didn't think roast potatoes went with salad. Our room 205 was nice but only one set of towels put in bathroom, I found the other set in the wardrobe so I put them in the bathroom only to find when we both had our showers that the room cleaner had taken one set away. We had to share a bath towel. Othwise all good

STAYED AT HOTEL PLENTY OF TIMES BEFORE ALWAYS STAYED IN COURTYARD WHERE ROOMS ARE VERY GOOD, THIS TIME STAYED IN ROOM 3 ABOVE RESTRSAUNT BAR AREA, ROOM WAS POOR FROM THE START, WINDOW SILL WAS COVERED IN DUST WITH A LARGE DEAD MOTH SMEARED ACROSS THE SILL, BATHROOM WAS DAMP AND BATH PANEL FALLING APART, THE TAPS IN THE ROOM ONLY GAVE WARM WATER, THERE WAS NO COLD WATER IN THIS ROOM AT ALL, SHOWER WAS ONLY JUST WARM ENOUGHT TO BE USEABLE WITH THE NOISE OF PUMP RUNNING BEHIND WALL CONSTANT ALL NIGHT, CONSTANT NOISE FROM BAR DOWNSTAIRS AS ROOM SITIUATED DIRECTLY ABOVE THE REAR, ALONG WITH THE CONSTANT ROAD NOISE AND FUNCTION DOWNSTAIRS, BY FAR THE WORST STAY AT THE HOTEL I HAVE EVER HAD WHERE AS NORMALLY STATING IN THE COURTYARD I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES

satisfactory for our requirements, good breakfast, friendly breakfast staff - front desk could be friendlier and greet people as they come in and out - even if they are busy with someone or on the computer an acknowledgement would be nice. After three mornings of me giving a loud sunny "good morning" the lady caught on and did it some of the other mornings. often busy on computer and doesn't even look up though. one expects a "goodbye, have a nice day" in this type of hotel.

I was generally very disappointed with our stay. We had a good check in with a lovely receptionist, Merlin, but from there on in, things went down hill. The room smelt bad, there was, what appeared to be blood on the floor, so had to wear my shoes to ensure I did not stand on it bare foot. The towels were thin and insubstantial and the bathroom smelt as if the previous guest may have been sick in there. Overall, I was not impressed.

Disappointed with selection of beers on offer considering the hotel says it was an old coaching inn. No cask beer .

The hotel colleagues were warm, friendly and helpful. The room was small but excellently equipped, and had a very comfortable bed. The dining room meal seemed expensive for the quality served, the lamb cutlets were not particularly good, and the summer vegetables needed a wider range. Breakfast was a splendid display to English eyes, but my preference for a cold collation was met by a disappointingly poor selection. The croissants and pastries were appalling, and need urgent improvement. My hens would have loved them, I did not. Nevertheless, apart from dinner, it was very good value for money, and enabled me to do my job the next day, so thank you.

We've been looking for somewhere nice to stay when visiting elderly relatives in this area - most places are either pubs which are okay but a bit tatty or the cheaper chains attached to restaurants. This place is the best we've found yet - five minutes, no more from the M40. Plenty parking and smart bar and restaurant. Room was clean, up to usual standard from this chain (we have stayed in many of their hotels in the UK) . Only issue for us was the room had only one set of towels for the two of us but sorted when we saw reception, still should have been right at the beginning. Breakfast was good, buffet style but unlike so many was hot.

A shame there is no air conditioner in room 18 or others in that building as the room is stuffy when weather is very warm. No problems with staff and catering all very pleasant.

Perhaps it was a weekend of a long holiday but some staff members seem really unmotivated. When checking in told the room was ready at 2pm but cleaner was still half way through cleaning the bed and told us it was fine to leave our stuff in the room Bar staff were playing what sounded like eastern european or turkish music and chatting to guests and complaining about having to work Used towels at gym were still there the next day Not a terrible experience but some staff members seemed really half hearted, hotel was also relatively empty so staff felt like they had given up Receptionists were nice enough

Bathroom door would not shut and scraped on floor, free WiFi poor signal and dropped out often so found it useless. Shower head dripped when running bath and water poured onto floor when using shower. Clean room otherwise. Didn't use restaurant or bar facilities

We spent our wedding night here, as it was where my grandparents had married just over 60 years before. We arrived at about 1:30am, and someone came out immediately to greet us, and helped me carry my huge train up the stairs to our room. The room was lovely, and the hotel had allowed friends in to decorate it with balloons and banners as a surprise. We ordered room service, which was delicious. The perfect end to our wedding day and start to married life, thank you!

In general we were satisfied with the Hotel reception, bar and restaurant . however we were allocated a disabled room and one bed had a smell when it got warm making for a tense sleeping experience. In addition the bathroom smelt musty this we think was due to the inadequacy of the glass splash screen which resulted in large puddles forming after every shower ad some of the water seeping under the bath.

I have previously stayed in this hotel for business and really enjoyed my visit here. I am now back for a month again and I must say the hotel has got better and better. The food is very good value and the rooms are all very nice, I was welcomed again by the happy receptionist staff and I must say all the staff are wonderful here Big thank you to the hotel
