Close by the M40 this comfortable recently upgraded hotel is very convenient for visits to the Chilterns and to Harrington Opera at Worsley. The bedrooms are spacious, the service is good and the staff are friendly and efficient.

This is the fifth time I have stayed in recent months. On this occasion everything was fine - room clean and comfortable, service good, breakfast good. On my two previous visits I had small issues, which deterred me from booking again so in the last month I have stayed elsewhere but I thought I would give it another try this week and it was much better. The issues on previous visits were: dirty plates on a tray outside the room on my arrival which were not collected by the time I left; being able to hear the TV from the next room (in the main part of the hotel); coffee machine in the breakfast room serving very sub-standard coffee. None of these issues occurred this time, and I had a nice jug of coffee with my breakfast instead of using the machine. The hotel is very convenient for a regular work commitment, so I shall be booking in again soon.

Perfect one night stop. Welcoming helpful staff. Early arrival but room available. Ground floor courtyard bedroom looking inwards to well appointed cool garden area. Very hot day but lovely fresh environment despite being on the old A40.

« A nice stop over »

We stayed one night in this hotel visiting relatives in Oxford. We were upgraded to a very nice and big room this time. The room is very tastefully decorated and the bathroom is huge with separate shower and bath. We had lunch in the hotel and it was very nice. This is our second time staying here and breakfast is still a minor issue. As there was a wedding the night before so it was very busy in the morning. The food was a bit dry and noone bother to check when they ran out of food and refill. We hope breakfast will be better next time we stay.

Our room ws excellent in size location and facilities. My evening meal was OK but not what was on the menu or what I was expecting.Breakfast food was terrible. evening meal was dealt with by wine waiter very well My breakfast complaint fell on deaf ears , he did not understand the point I was making and just wanted me to go. He did not understand how you keep cooked food fresh --- covered , not exposed to hot lamps. Cold food , on chilled plates etc

Brilliant, we were very happy with it. The staff were all very friendly, and Alex (a young Romanian man) was particularly helpful, especially when we arrived very late the first night. Our only disappointment was that although there were three of us, two adults and a four year old child, we were only given one double bed. We asked for another bed, and got an infant's cot. But other than that, everything was fine.

« Good except for taps in bath! »

Very nice big clean twin room away from traffic noise. Only problem was strange method of running a bath - never seen a round tap like that before, and the water ran out of the bath as no efficient plug. (Don't know about shower as did not use).

Copy of Facebook review .................. Stayed as a couple 23rd and 24th June 2018 An AA listed 4 star hotel on it’s own in a country setting. Check-in first class, room 218 allocated on the first floor of the rooms surrounding the courtyard. No offer of help with cases, which one would expect with 4 star. Room very spacious, clean and comfortable. Nice to see a safe, fridge and tea tray in an English hotel. The room overlooked a field which had plenty of rabbits to keep us amused. The only drawback was the French windows with a Juliet balcony. You could not fully open the French windows due to the curtain pelmet restricting them. Reading the last review, we were lucky that the room did not overlook the courtyard, so we were not bothered by the wedding party. Nice bar, but on the Saturday evening, both the courtyard and outside seating area had been taken over by the wedding party. So other guests had no outside seating on a very warm evening. We ate evening meal in the restaurant both evenings. First class service and food. Think I saw a one rosette award from the AA, which was well earned. Breakfast Sunday morning was a bit chaotic. As the previous review has said, they seemed to be overwhelmed by the wedding party. Especially on a Sunday morning, it should be obvious to staff that most people would take breakfast in the last hour (09:00 – 10:00). Monday morning breakfast was a much more relaxed affair. A word of warning ……… Booking online gives 3 prices - Bed only, Bed and Breakfast, Bed, Breakfast and Evening meal. For BB and evening meal they add £25/head to the BB price so in our case £50 for two. Now the catch. If you spend over the £50, you have to pay the extra, and, in our case on the Sunday, we spent just under the £50, but you still pay the £50. So the hotel has a win win situation. JUST BOOK B&B and pay for food as you go. In conclusion, a good stay, friendly staff, will be back …………….

I don’t think I would to indicate or return, the service was poorly not welcoming. Sad because I do like the Accor company I do use when I can for simple reasons but this experience I will have to think in the future

The hotel was okay. Very spacious room, but no sound-proofing so could hear people banging around all night. The restaurant closes very early (9PM) and breakfast started at 7am, so it meant I wasn't able to get the breakfast I had paid for. And I still don't know why they charge £25 a night for a dog when they don't for children, who are infinitely more messy and destructive than dogs.

The title says it all. Service was slow and charmless. The room was clean and basically comfortable. why are you so stingy with toiletries and towels. We had to find extra in the wardrobe. Air con had a life of its own and we needed to have windows open all night

« Convenient location, disappointing facilities »

I booked 5 rooms, two of which I requested to be configured with twin beds. When we arrived we were told that no twin bedded rooms were available and all they could provide were camp beds which were very uncomfortable for adults. i was very disappointed that we were not warned about this in advance and that the staff were so unhelpful and did nothing to solve the problem. No compensation was offered.

« Very happy, a lovely place to stay. »

This was our second visit to the Lambert and it did not dissapoint. Very attentive and friendly staff, comfortable spacious bedrooms and inviting lounge, bar and restaurant. Food at breakfast and dinner was of a high standard and afternoon tea is well worth a try. It is very convenient for visiting Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Bicester village. We will definitely return.

Hotel staff had bad English skills. Did not understand orders at the bar. Beer was also kept poorly so cask ales were very flat. Breakfast was poor as they ran out food.
