Lovely - upgraded to a very comfortable suite. Loved our room. Delighted to find it was so close to the Oxford Tube station. Nice enough dinner in the restaurant, generous breakfast

Staff were friendly but lots of mistakes. Asked for a welldone steak but got rare then my wife got the wrong steak. Bed was very hard and gave me a back back.

« Comfortable bolt hole after overseas adventure »

Deluxe room was pretty large with great bathroom and comfortable bed (although i couldn't sleep much due to jet lag. Employees were great from check-in, through to dining (evening meal and breakfast0. Olga stood out and then a seamless checkout. Room needs a bit of maintenance to make it great. Several lightbulbs not working and no handle on one of ten bedside cabinets. Passed on these observation at check out.

We booked a room for three people. When we arrived, the extra bed was not ready. We had to ask to the reception to add a bed. We also booked for the breakfasts but, apparently, it was not recorded by the hotel. Except that, the hotel is enjoyable (no noise even if it not so far from the motorway) and the breakfasts were correct.

« Friendly staff but rooms badly need attention »

We had booked this hotel, using loyalty points, to stay overnight following a shopping trip to the nearby Bicester Village. We arrived late in the evening and the reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful in terms of checking us in and helping us get to our room. We had a similarly positive experience checking out of the hotel. Unfortunately our overall rating is so low because the room facilities are badly outdated and ruined our overall stay. We arrived in the room (205) to find the only heating source to be a small electronic convection radiator in the corner. This meant the room was freezing cold on arrival and then nearly impossible to control the temperature for the rest of the evening. It was either boiling hot next to the radiator or cold elsewhere in the room. The bed and pillows were also really uncomfortable. Our night's sleep was not helped by the old windows meaning that their was a lot of background noise from other hotel guests and the nearby M40. The primary issues with the room though related to the bathroom. It was poorly maintained and dirty. We started off by attempting to take a bath but found the temperature control didn't work. This meant it took ages to fill as we had to fill either using boiling hot or cold water. When the bath did finally reach a bearable temperature we found the plug didn't work and the water leaked away within about 5 minutes. Giving up, we reverted to taking a shower but again found the broken thermostat meant that we either had a cold shower or burnt ourselves. I finally settled for a cold shower to ensure I was at least awake enough to drive home, only to find the shower screen leaked, flooding the floor. My partner decided to not even bother and instead waited for us to get home before washing.....

My third visit to this hotel and am booked again to stay later on this year. Stayed in a courtyard room for the first time which was very comfortable.

« Pleasant stay »

This was an overnight stop with 2 dogs. Room was spacious and just right for the 4 of us. Couod have been more attention to detail - 1 lightbulb not working and TV reception almost non-existent. Staff were lovely and helpful. Food at dinner and breakfast was good.

« Bit wet »

Nice hotel. Sure will be great in summer with nice courtyard to sit out in. However in winter on a very wet morning woken by what I assume (hopefully) was someone running on a treadmill at 6:15, then when that had stopped heard a dripping sound and noticed water coming through the ceiling (did I mention it was a wet morning!), maybe not so relaxing. I put glass under the drip and had quick shower and escaped before it got worse. Reported to reception and very apologetic, offering to get manager - said no point, no ones faut. just one of those things. I was more concerened they dealt with it before it got worse. So no complaints over service, hence high overall experience. Would still stay again as long as it's not a room near the gym. Easy accessfrom motorway and (sort of) suprisingly quiet.

Very convenient stop over on way back from London area to South West Wales. Very quiet, good size room, enjoyable food and very friendly staff. Woken up in middle of night by very noisy air con system (sounded like a pneumatic drill) but very quickly sorted out by man on reception. Would definitely use this hotel again.

The room was comfortable and quiet. The food for breakfast and in the evening was very nice. The hotel didn't seem to have a maintenance department as several things broke and it was the reception staff who had to deal (or not deal) with it. Staff were friendly.

« Comfortable room, but expensive food »

Room was very comfortable, though bizarrely, the air conditioning was set to 28 degrees when we got in. Very quite and a good shower. Food in the restaurant was very nice but quite expensive and breakfast was very expensive so we didn't bother. We were walking the ridgeway and our trousers were a bit muddy and nobody commented or complained, which was nice.
