Great location, don’t come by car

TripAdvisor rating 4.0/5

CarlzE Solo travel - 11/10/2019 TripAdvisor review

The car park is a public shared car park with Paradise Centre and it is horrendous. The lanes are small there is no room to turn around and there are poles everywhere. The rooms are basic but comfortable. The bar isn’t really that inviting it’s more like the transit lounge of a bus station. If you stick to your room it’s a nice place to stay.

Satisfied with the stay

It was a trip for work. The hotel and the bedroom were very satisfactory. The wifi connection in the room was very poor which resulted on me having to connect to my phone

My 'sunshine' holiday, especially with several cockroaches.

Please fix the 'house' of cockroaches in the rooms and balconies before renovation and equipment improving such as the noise from elevators, and match the level of service with your brand and goodwill. Thanks!

Comfy and clean but overpriced

It was good, the room was clean but for what we paid we won’t be staying again. We found cheaper fully equipped rooms with seperate bedrooms and a kitchen for a better price. Also the cot size was ridiculous and so small I would call it a bassinet, my son would roll over and head it the sides waking him up crying. All staff were amazing and friendly.

Ok

Room was good, staff weren’t very friendly except the man that gets your bags ( he was very good). The Accor device desk was unmanned for about 15 minutes when I needed some help and the other desk was busy and couldn’t help. What’s the point of being an Accor Plus member?

Great hospitality and customer service.

Very good stay. Thank you very much for the upgrade!

The room was not as advertised (ocean view) and was not clean. The cleanliness of corridors, etc was terrible.

Joshua E. Families - 10/10/2019 AccorHotels review

We were very disappointed and dissatisfied. Spending nearly $400 per night and not getting what we paid for was not good enough. We complained and were told that someone would look at changing our room on the second night however we were not contacted. There were lose hairs rolled up in our room towels, only two towels when three people were staying. Hair stuck on the soap tray, hair on the bathroom floor, and with great effort, long hair hanging from the ceiling fire extinguishers. We booked room service and after finishing called reception as directed. Disappointing to see the tray was still uncollected at 2pm the following day. This is unsightly and unhygienic. We would appreciate credit given the room had no ocean view as opposed to what we paid for.

Enjoyable experience.

Good location, breakfast is good. Your's Concierges Name's Mr. Ali and Mr. Michael, we like to praised them, they were very well positioned in their worked and responsible of Duties to Guest like us. But your Front Desk needed to be improved. They just don't bother to give us a helping hand because we are Asian, whereby we will standing close to receptionist Queue line They were talking among themselves and giggling that they didn't see us invisible. Receptionist is a man and a few ladies, he wearing a Hotel Coat,a Indian girl, and a girl who is i think is a intern. Hotel Novotel is a excellent Hotel to stayed. If the management can improve the Front Desk like your Conceige Ali and Michael, more Asians Guest will be happy to spending and willing give their Credits Cards to this Lovely Novotel Hotel. Thank you.

Alexander Families - 09/10/2019 AccorHotels review

When we arrived to check-in just before 2pm, the driveway/drop-off area was filled with cars, I was half on the road, half in the driveway, there was no one around to provide instructions or give guidance to move people on. Traffic was building up behind the queue onto the main road, which is only a single lane and meant other people on the road were getting impatient, honking and carrying on. My wife got out and went inside to see if she could find some information. I eventually was able to get in and park out the front, but had to get my young daughter out as well and could see a massive queue of people waiting to check-in. I was able to confront a staff member at another desk to simply ask where can we all park, to which he advised we could go around the corner into the "shared" car-park with the shopping centre. Why some employee or hotel manager didn't have the common sense to see that there are so many cars and people waiting outside and hear all the honking, that they couldn't be out the front going up to cars and letting them know this simple and vital piece of information is beyond me. When we original called to ask about parking, there was no mention of a shared car-park, only that the hotel has parking and that it is $17/day. Being shared with the shopping centre meant that it was full, when I got back into the car and drove into the carpark, there were already 20 or so cars driving around trying to find a carspace. Yet another tiny, but crucial piece of information that should have been provided to patrons. Had I have been advised that it was a shared car-park, we probably would have stayed elsewhere. When I finally got a space on the other side of the carpark and went around to the lifts for the hotel there was only one lift working going from the car park to the lobby, the other lift mind you was not out of order, just calibrated not to go to the carpark. Again, there another long line of people with bags and so on waiting and these lifts are small, literally only big enough for a bell-hop and a single luggage trolley and these lifts also go to all floors, so the wait time was long. I took the stairs. Up in the lobby, there was still a massive queue of people, still cars honking outside. I understand this is check-in time and a wait is to be expected. However there are 4 terminals, 3 of which were open, plus a further two near the entrance for concierge or other information (which we later found can also be used for check-in, because someone eventually realised they might need to help out). Once we had checked in, we asked about the parking situation, as I had simply gotten a ticket from the shopping centre car-park, we were asked to come back later as it was extremely busy. We had another appointment in about an hour now, as this whole check-in process had now taken close to two hours. We then went down the stairs, which is fine, but was definitely the quicker option, as there were still hoards of people in the lobby and cars outside (still no one outside to provide patrons with any direction or information) and brought all our luggage from the car, where there were still people driving around looking for spaces. We then joined the long line of people (which was well into the car-park) waiting for the single lift. After we got into the room, it was time to go back and work out the car-parking situation, there was still a queue of people waiting to check-in (it was now getting closer to 5pm), we went to the front desk, because that's where we checked-in and it seemed like a simple process to swap out the car park ticket and were told "there's no car park tickets here, you need to wait in the line and you probably want to do that now because as you can see it's still busy". So we joined the queue yet again. When we questioned the car park situation and mentioned that there are a lot people driving around looking for spaces and asked what happens if there are no spaces left when we come back (since we are paying for the parking through the hotel) we were simply told "well it is shared with the shopping centre" (stating the obvious is not helpful and we didn't know that until today), we had to push for an answer and were finally advised that the hotel could organise permission for us to park in the driveway/drop-off area if really necessary. The whole check-in process was close to 3 hours. Had there have been more staff on hand to help people or the hotel given the impression they were doing all that they could for all the people waiting (by opening all terminals, someone outside to help with the traffic, letting people know they can go around the corner into the shared car park, but it is busy down there, providing some alternative, even just someone walking up and the down the queues of people re-assuring them that they will be checked-in as soon as possible), but there was nothing, no information, no help, no guidance. It just caused unnecessary frustration.

Ok but disappointing. Sunday - our room was not serviced properly (dirty glasses left). Breakfast - people with dietary restrictions not well catered for. Two examples - would have preferred poached eggs. Had to settle for boiled eggs - no egg cups supplied so had to break shells on plate and keep egg shells away from other food. Beverages - I wanted chai tea which is readily available at most cafes. Your restaurant only had highly sugared chai powder. I am not a fan of Coffee Club but we actually had a better breakfast there!

Overall it was good. Highlight was the staff. Very good at all levels reflecting what appears to be carefull recuritment and excellent training. Hotel itself is showing signs of old age with the requirement to use industrial level ear plugs to shut out sound of night clubs booming and screaming until 4.00am.

Great and worth the money

Enjoyed the room, balcony and speed of Wi-Fi. TV channels limited and channel selection guide function inferior. Breakfast buffet selections too limited and repetitive. Overpriced for value.

Generally an okay experience however I do have an injury in my lower spine that makes it incredibly uncomfortable to use the shower/bath and when I explained that to the front desk she laughed and said in quite a derogatory tone 'Oh you have an injury do you? Sorry there's nothing we can do for you' I merely wanted a walk in shower.
