The welcome to the hotel was not great. The receptionist on duty seems to have preferential treatment to different guests. They were friendly to other guests but just gave us a cold shoulder. This was rather unwelcoming from the beginning. Website said the car park was secure, but it does not really look/seem secure. Payment for parking was taken but there wasn't even any request to take details of car registration. When I checked if they required the car registration number, they were rather reluctant in the explanation and said that as long as we parked on the allocated bays, that will be fine. I am rather intrigued to know how will the hotel identify guests who paid vs. those who did not? Signage to rooms was not great and you will have to walk into the different sides of the corridor to find your room. Plus, there was cigarette smell on the corridor leading to the rooms to which I complained to the lady who brought the missing towel to the room. She did say she will check it, but it is not expected that this will happen in a 4-star hotel. Only one of the 2 dryers in the launderette was working but even so, the dryer was not efficient. Clothes took a long time before they were dried. Overall we were very disappointed with the stay at the hotel.

I was specially concerned with your comments regarding your welcome and the friendliness of our reception team, as they are often commended for their service and it is something that we take pride on. I am sorry if this was not your personal experience. In regards to the car park, it is an underground car park secured by CCTV, and we are currently working on a better system to take all car registrations. Right now we always check on arrival that our guests are using our bays to avoid penalty tickets. I apologise if there was an unpleasant cigarette smell in the corridor, we are a strictly non-smoking property but unfortunately some guests will not follow this rule. Lastly, regarding the dryers, unfortunately one of our machines broke down a few days ago, hence why it was out of service. We are working to find a replacement as soon as possible and we hope to have new machines in place very soon. We appreciate you sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future. Sincerely, Pablo Saval

Liked the facilities but there were a few niggles; only staying one night so reported them on departure although not convinced the information was recorded reliably. Room 304 has a noisy fan in the kitchen are heating system and no plug in the bathroom sink. Will book again.

The entire staff was friendly and helpful (especially the young lady from Greece at the front desk). Room was large, clean, and modern; we loved the balcony! The Sainsbury’s next door was really convenient. I would absolutely stay here again.

I've been staying at the Adagio Brentford (formerly Urban Villa) for extended periods over the past 2.5 years. It is disappointing that some aspects of the hotel have yet to see any improvement. On this most recent visit.... The bad: - The dryer machines in the Upper Basement have required maintenance for literally years. Finally one of them has broken down. Given the very heavy use they see (it is clear they are used to dry kitchen towels by staff) it is not surprising that they would be hard worn. However, their breaking down could be avoided by a regular cleaning / replacement of filters/hoses - it just seems that isn't done at all. - Utensils in the rooms haven't been replaced in years it seems. In my most recent stay, the saucepan was badly scuffed and had permanently burnt on bits of food (room 508, see it yourselves). I tried my best to clean it, but this shouldn't be necessary. - My air conditioning failed twice during the stay. Both times with a "CH 36" message on the touchscreen. The problem fixed itself, but still, I was without air con for two nights. - To that last, the duvet provided is far too thick for some of the warmer months in London. I requested a single bedsheet be provided to me - I was left a pillowcase by I presume your cleaning staff - clearly a case of a message breaking down. - One of the TVs at the gym has been broken down since my last visit......in June. The good: - Your staff remains upbeat, polite and helpful, despite some recent turnover.

gave me everything i needed, check in was quick after a long day working and travelling, i was on the 1st floor so that was great, didnt eat breakfast but had coffee in the morning and that was nice and the breakfast options looked good, the room was great, i only used the bed and the bathroom but looked well supplied for 'living' there, rather than just 2 nights visit

Great location and size of room- However, kitchen was not cleaned properly and pans were steel so difficult to even fry eggs. Staff weren’t that helpful or accommodating when I complained the bath was not draining properly

When I walked in the 2 receptionists were physically fighting with each other. There was a computer problem so I was ordered to take a seat and then summoned when the receptionist was ready to deal with me. Even then the computer still wasn't working so I couldn't get a room key. One of the receptionists took me to my room saying I'd get a key later, bitching about her colleagues as we went. The room hadn't been cleaned properly, the furniture was dirty, bathroom light didn't work and the bed sheet was dirty and ripped. When I complained the manager gave me another room, however the bed sheet was still dirty. By that point, I was too tired to care! I did get a refund of 1 night's stay , but all a bit too little too late. Once the Premier Inn has finished the building work, I'll be staying there next time. It's NOT cheap to stay here even for London, so it's not too much to expect professional staff and a clean room. It's such a shame as the rooms are ideal and breakfast is good.

Room clean, quiet place, breakfast in line with expectations. The only things missing : in my last stay (room 403) there was no table and the satellite TV was not working ( actually this is since the transfer from urban villa to adagio apartments)

I've stayed at a few Adagios in a few countries. Comparatively, I was a bit disappointed by this one. While the apartment itself was great, some of the other elements dampened our spirits. First the good news: clean, modern apartment with easy access to transportation. Staff at the front desk were helpful, especially the American man who works in the evening. He really went above and beyond to help me navigate teleportation. Thanks so much! Now the drawbacks: The breakfast service needs a LOT of work. It's very basic and you'll do better to skip it and just eat breakfast next door. Also, they hired a new guy to work the breakfast service and he really shouldn't work with the public. While I'm sure that he's doing his best, he clearly has issues that impact guest satisfaction and would work better in a positron that accommodates his pressing need for order. An hour before breakfast ended, he wanted to know of we'd need coffee because he wanted to clean the machine. I had to tell him that he needed to wait until after breakfast to do that instead of rushing the guests. He apparently felt the same way about the egg boiler and turned it off more than an hour before breakfast was over. Silly us to expect boiled eggs. My mom cracked her eggs open only to find that they were raw. The machine was cool to the touch because he'd turned it off. Want to linger in the lobby to read the paper and have more coffee? Not if he's on duty and has placed all of the chairs on top of the table. Bonus? Hygiene issues on Day 1. Way to start the day. He wasn't alone. We ordered trash and towel service. Gave the young lady the room number 3 times and watched her write it in a pad. No one came that day. So the next day we ask again and there was no record of the prior request. When someone finally came, she didn't leave enough towels or remove the bathroom trash. Sigh . Then there was the hot water...or lack thereof. With 3 people in our suite, we had 1 day where none of us had hot water and 2 days where it ran out midway through the second person's shower. Also, a bit of basic etiquette training is needed. One staff member turned to shout something to another, ignoring the fact that I was standing directly next to her and she was effectively yelling in my ear. It was unbelievably rude. The other employee quickly shushed her but she seemed oblivious...and I wound up with a headache. Like I said, I've stayed in a few Adagios while traveling with my family and this one missed the mark. I may try another at some point but I'm really not sure if this reflects a shift in the standards for the chain.
