Disappointing to say the lease we stayed at lodge during Gary Player Invitational tournaments and it has deteriorate immensely the garden below our room was rubble . The atmosphere dark and smelly , rooms looked like three star family accommodation venue No character and in need of tender loving care - furniture tacky, no bars service Staff dull and we just left breakfast was two stars experience All and all nor cared for and we just booked Zimbali suites and really hope be better expire acne as we work in Kwa Zulu Natal often

The room and hotel were very nice and the staff were friendly however the service was quite slow. We often had to wait to be collected and dropped to and from our hotel. I'd rather be within walking distance than have to get a golf cart each time. Breakfast was very disappointing, probably the worst we had in all our time in South Africa. The standard and service was not at all what I would expect from this quality of hotel.

Extremely impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff at Zimbali.The room was comfortable,the pools were amazing,sorry the. VOP was closed for maintenance .IT WAS AN AMAZING BREAK.If you have any specials on or at vacation club for rental for the March school holidays please let me know..as I will be back..

Overall a fabulous stay friendly and helpfull staff. Nice and relaxing the rooms were perfect. The only negative point is your restaurant or cafe closes too early and if you want to have anything to eat or drink at night it's not possible..

It was our wedding night and we arrived to a room with rose petals and champagne which was so sweet, the only thing I could fault was the lack of champagne glasses and tea cups as I was unable to make a cup of tea in the morning

We spent our honeymoon night at the hotel (as a gift). We arrived in our wedding outfits, which made it pretty obvious to the check-in staff. That being said, we did not receive a single congratulations. When I mentioned it was our wedding day and perhaps we could get a better room than that at the very lower part of the resort toward the jungle area without a seaview, we were told that all the rooms are special. It was a Tuesday night. The hotel was empty. We saw 4 cars in the parking lot when we checked in at 10pm. The next day all the restaurants were closed making getting breakfast difficult. We were incredibly deep in the lodge and unable to walk to our car and needed to contact reception for a golf cart if you needed to go anywhere. We felt slightly trapped. At night the only restaurant that was open was their "buffet and fine dining restaurant". Which seems counterintuitive and from the reviews online not an option. We spent two nights at the hotel, at no point was any initiative taken to perhaps provide some special treatment on our honeymoon. It was not a romantic stay in any sense of the word. It seemed like a business hotel. That said, the room is large and comfortable, the vanity area is a nice extra, there are limited channels on the T.V., the shower is extremely small. The water smells terrible and sulphurous. There was construction which was noisy and unpleasant. Two nights at the hotel seemed excessive.

« Terrible welcoming, bad service, long waiting periods, just poor overall »

We were welcomed onto the estate by being issued a speeding fine for driving 48km/ in a 40km zone. The guy who issued the ticket was rude and insisted we give him cash to which we refused. Upon arriving at the Lodge, we were not welcomed and the staff were just indifferent. The receptionist merely did what needed to be done with no pleasantries or smiles. The drivers of the golf cart and the shuttle to the hotel were the only hospitable people on this entire estate. It took us 45 minutes to locate the gate to the beach where we were told we could only be outside the compound for 15 minutes as the guard was leaving for the night. When we returned, there was no shuttle from the Ayoba restaurant and had to return to the hotel for a shuttle. We informed front desk that we were waiting for a shuttle however they did not call us for the shuttle twice so we eventually landed up sitting at the door waiting for the shuttle so as not to be left behind for the third time. The turn down service was at least good as the guy was lovely and even sourced us a plug. I think overall there were only 3 nice people within your staff which were the drivers and the turn down service. Your front desk staff are atrocious to say in the least and so unwelcoming. The following morning we simply packed up and left the estate without even bothering to order breakfast or spending time on the estate due to the bad taste left behind from the putrid service received. Also, we were not informed during the booking process that there are no swimming beaches on the estate and that the valley of the pools are under construction and not available to use.

« Dated lodge and no WiFi »

Nice resort, you feel safe and secure. The lodge itself is ok with lovely pool area. The rooms are dark, gloomy and dated. I think they are being refurbished at the moment. Staff were pleasant. But I chose this hotel as it said it had WiFi. But virtually impossible to get it. We had to keep going to the resort hotel 5mins away to get it.

the professionalism and warm welcoming from the entire staff was heart touching. Everything was in a high standard the rooms and restaurants. I enjoy the small transportation to and from the room. the surrounding nature made the place even more refreshing.

Overall was fantastic! But it was given to us as a gift and we really couldn't afford the restaurants! Absolutely ridiculous the prices of breakfast! Not sure if u cater for overseas ppl but totally unaffordable.. restaurants also so over priced!
