Great location. Hotel small enough to feel ‘personal’. Hotel busy but no queues at restaurants, lifts etc. Excellent restaurants, lots of choice and children well catered for. We have stayed at several Dubai hotels but the Fairmont has by far the best restaurants!

My boyfriend, sister and I stayed at the Fairmont The Palm for 6 nights beginning of October and had a lovely time. The hotel is beautiful and grandiose ( and in my opinion much nicer than the downtown Fairmont), with 2 swimming pools areas (one adults only, one for families) and beach access. The side of the hotel facing the water (also where the beach swimming area is) had a gorgeous view of the water and the city skyline. Breakfast was included in our package and it was a feast, with a super wide variety buffet, so I highly recommend getting that package. We also ate at Blowfish - this is a cute poolside burger/fries spot (affordable) and Mashribaya Lounge- dining area in the lobby that had the best food ever. It is medium range pricing, starting at approx. $20 USD per person. We ate here twice and I can say with certainty best shwarma I've had in my life and best bolognese sauce I've ever tasted, hands down. Room wise, we had a full sea view room with two queen beds and it was beautiful. The room was spacious and had high ceilings. I've stayed in some Fairmonts with more luxurious room interiors, but this one was very beautiful and so so clean, which to me is the most important thing. The bathroom was beautiful as well, with a huge glass shower, big soaking tub and separate toilet area. Housekeeping services were amazing and would come twice a day and once to check on us to see if everything is in order. The entire staff was so so kind. We had very pleasant experiences with check in, check out and any other interactions. The gentleman who checked us in was so kind, helpful and patient despite the fact that we checked in at 1 am (due to our flight) and had a million questions for him. At the end of our stay, he accompanied us to the car and helped us with our bags and just left a great overall impression on me. I will say there is one thing I think this hotel could improve on: the safety guards at the pool. For each pool (there are four small pools but they are connected in pairs) there is one or two safety guards, and it feels excessive and sometimes uncomfortable. To clarify, these pools are not big and they are not deep. It didn't make sense to me at all.. I would understand maybe having 1 or 2 for the family pool but it just is so unnecessary for the adult pool. To be very frank, it feels like all they do is watch people (mostly women and girls) in their bathing suits. They sit on very high chairs and have very dark sunglasses so you can't really tell where there eyes are, but I just know it always seemed as if they were looking at me and my sister, and it just didn't feel ok. I would say that was the one thing I wasn't happy with. Other things to consider (but Fairmont doesn't have control over this) is that there is a lot of construction happening right in front of the hotel, so its noisy, sometimes dusty and the workers can definitely see you although I didn't have any negative experiences with that. Granted, this is temporary and the hotel will be absolutely wonderful after construction is completed. Another thing to consider is in Dubai you have two types of taxis, Toyotas and Lexuses. If you don't care about luxury, go with the toyotas as they are metered and will be much cheaper than a Lexus driver (I was told Lexus taxis are always double the price). Once I felt that the Fairmont employee coordinating the taxis was pushing the Lexus upon me but I insisted on the cheaper option. I would rather eat at Mashribaya lounge again then drive around in a Lexus. ;) Also, I HIGHLY recommend getting a massage at the poolside willow spa. They have options 30 min for $30 US and 60 min for $60 USD, which is really super cheap, especially for the type of service you are getting. It was amazing. Some tips I have if you choose to stay here: right across from the hotel is a grocery store and a few food spots. I highly recommend checking it out. Use the complimentary Fairmont shuttles, they are wonderful. I wish they would offer more timings but I understand it would be hard to make that accommodation. Overall, our stay was wonderful and I would gladly come back here. It is a wonderful place for families, couples, friends or even just a solo trip. It was also my first time visiting Dubai and the staff was so helpful in helping me find my way around. One of my favorite parts was the fresh and beautiful roses everywhere. The whole lobby was covered in them. I really love this hotel and can't wait to come back!

The stay at the fairmont was fabulous, the hotel, food and staff were excellent. The only criticism we have is the price of drinks, both alcoholic and non alcoholic are ridiculous and it does just taint the experience a little.

The team at the executive floor was excellent and very accommodating to our needs and wishes. The pool staff were great and very attentive. The food was very good and the kids pool was a sure winner for our 5 year old. The rooms are a bit dated and there is major construction happening on the beach right in front of the hotel which is a nuisance. But overall very good stay.

Excellent hotel, staff were always friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was fantastic, although the options were very limited when I needed an early morning breakfast before the main restaurant opened. Room was clean and comfortable, although on the first night I found the iron was broken (leaked all over my shirt), and the coffee maker was also broken - both were fixed right away when I notified the front desk.

Stay was great, unfortunately due to the agenda of the week I didn't get to enjoy the hotel as much as I would wish. But I for sure I want to mention Marion Marxer, as she was incredibly helpful and assisted us in every single small request (and we had a million of those), always there for us and always with the smile. Thank you for that. The only negative part was when our CEO forgot his key and asked the receptions for the new one, she asked for the room number, confirmed his name herself and gave the key without checking a single detail (not that date of birth, of passport number, nothing), so anyone could have gone to his room. Other then that everything was great, thank you!

Really enjoyed our holiday. Felt relaxed very quickly. Room was good, food was great, especially little miss India which dare I say it was the most enjoyable meal I’ve had in my 7 visits to Dubai. Usually I dislike a buffet but yours was excellent and you had one of the better hotel gyms I’ve been to. Our son liked the kids club and kept asking to go which is true testament to the staff you have working there. Only downsides were the building work, although it wasn’t that bad, just made the view a bit disappointing. Also the service in the evening ‘bar area in the garden’ was really really slow. This became one of the more annoying things as we just wanted a couple of drinks pre dinner but had to wait in excess of 20 mins most nights to even place an order, in the end we went to either blow fish or little miss india which were great but wasn’t really the same atmosphere.

Amazing hotel, great facilities, great food especially Ba restaurant, Little miss India, flow kitchen. Also ate at blow fish for a lighter snack in the day again it was great! Staff were very helpful, we had a pleasant stay.

« Nice hotel, shame about building work »

Rooms & maid service excellent. Fabulous food in fabulous restaurants. Service lacking around pool & on beach. Beach a complete mess (worse than when we last stayed at this hotel) with building work. You should have closed whilst this major work has been ongoing!

Very good all staff were very helpful the only small issue was the construction site infant of the hotel and outside our part seaview room. But progress must be for the best and l am sure it will be great when finished.
