Very comfortable stay however the hotel cars are expensive in comparison to taxis and it becomes very tedious having to decline them constantly as they are not a "very good price" as is being touted.

« Almost Perfection »

The hotel is beautiful. The staff were excellent. The food exquisite. The room wonderful. However, there were bedbugs hence I will not recommend this hotel nor stay at any Fairmont hotel again. For a five star hotel I excepted luxury and much better. My stay ended up being horrible because I was constantly looking for bedbugs to come out of the bed. Really bad way to spend my bday trip.

« It was not as expected at all »

It was bad experience. It tokes more than one hour and a half to checkin the room! In addition, i was mentioned that I might extend for one more night at the check. I found that the price for the last night was raised a lot since the did an upgrade for me because I am a platinum accor member. Services and furniture were not as expected. Also, front desk treatment was bad in the checkout. This experience was not from me alone since I noticed two issue from another guests in the front desk while I checkin and check out.

Hotel and room was great and clean. There were only 2 restaurants that belonged to the Hotel, the others were private so you had to pay them directly and not put the bill on your account. This was inconvient to us. Cost of food very expensive too.

Our whole experience of staying at the Fairmont was fantastic from start to finish. From checking in and being provided with room upgrades at a reasonable cost, to the service we enjoyed in the restaurants and at the pool bars. The concierge service was excellent also and not to forget the provision of taxis for our many journeys. We can't wait to visit again as soon as possible.

« unlike our previous experience this is the most unsatisfactory »

First time we book on Fairmont GOld, and the experience is devastating. Although Charlie from the Fairmont Gold reception was so generous to upgrade us to one bedroom suite, even without asking and then we realize that the room view is the roof of the exhibition center. On the time of the booking we requested higher floor in order to have a very good view but we didnt have it from room 1702. Farimont Gold lounge is a disapponting and disastrous experience. All the staffs are far below the standard of Fairmont. This has been explained and raised to Ms. Zalul by email and in person. From the reception of the Gold lounge, to the server and the chef far far far beyond the starndard of any 4 or 5 stars hotel. If you go to any fine dining restaurant, when you come a hostes will direct you to your table and ask what you would like to have, in fairmont gold lounge as if you are entering a WC, nobody will come to you until you call them. Theres one person name Grace who serves on our last night, she is like a bull when she was talking to us. She doesnt have the hospitality ethics when talking to the guest and we were wondering why she is working on that floor or at the hotel. Whenever we visits Dubai our first choice is Fairmont because people are friendly, location is good, etc but our last stay was very unsatisfactory. At first we didnt want to stay in Fairmont Gold room because we will not use it due to our busy and tight schedule but Ms. Christine from the central reservation is very good, she convinced us to try the Gold Room. We were very happy with the service of Ms. Christine because she assist us in a very good and professional way. And Ms. Zulal by taking the matter is a very serious way. Fairmont's philosophy is to Turn moments into memories for our guests, and it was indeed what happened to us, unfortunately its not a memory that you want to repeat again. Unfortunately, there is more on bad than good that we could say about our last stay. We believe that the management will do their best in order to avoid such experience.

« Unprecedented service in luxury hotel »

Very friendly staff, who in their hardship of life (not easy for Asian workers in Dubai) made an unforgettable stay at the Fairmont Hotel. Allthough the location is somewhat noisy at the Sheik Zayed Road, the Hotel itself did almost everything to make our stay pleasant. At first we were disappointed with the room, the view was industrial and because of the floor (21nd) the noise of the street was somewhat bothersome. When we asked for another room, without hesitation a room at the other side on the 31st floor with a view on the Burj Kahlifa. Only point for improvement is the lack of non-smoking policy, at the pools and in the CinCin bar.

It was very nice, but I was told I would get the Sunday Breakfast included, when I was charged I was then told you would take it off my bill. I left early in the morning April 4 and didn’t realize I was still charged. I called and you said that you would credit me back. I still have not received any credit back. Thank you Charlie B.

« Reasonable, but not what I expect of a Fairmont »

Generally reasonable, but considering I booked an executive junior suite, some glaring deficiencies: 1) one hour to check in on the executive floor 2) after waiting for half an hour, the executive receptionist informed me that I would be upgraded to a junior suite to lack of room availability -- which was the level of room I had already paid for! 3) breakfast was cold and unappetizing 4) bartender in the executive lounge was missing many basic ingredients for making cocktails -- he was unable to make a caesar, had no olives for martinis, had no lemons or limes, etc. 5) pillows on the beds were all uniformly heavy thick down which I found too high to sleep on, and the bed was uncomfortable -- sofa with cushions was a better option 6) no plug close to the bed to plug in a CPAP machine To expedite check-out, I went to ground floor, and it only took two minutes! The clerk on the ground floor was friendly and efficient. He expressed he was sorry that our experience wasn't up to our expectations. As I told him, the Fairmont downtown is inferior in service levels and quality to the Fairmont Palm. Needless to say, the Dusit Thani just down the road and the Conrad next door are lower priced, and much better hotels. Cheers

Big marks for service. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and accommodating. Bravo to all. Dokuz lounge/restaurant is a nice place to hang out in the evenings--grab a drink, some dinner, shisha, etc. I found the hotel to be neatly kept and daily cleaning service well executed as well. Thurs/Fri evenings can be a bit of a challenge due to the extra traffic to the onsite bars/clubs. Perhaps having external patrons access via alternate entrances might help? The rooms could use a bit of updating as well.
