« It could have been better! »

The room was fine, the reception like-wise. However the night-time sound from the night-club (or belly-dancing show?) was incessant and went on until nearly 4:00 in the morning! We had to leave early and I noted this complaint at check-out and didn't feel it was properly acknowledged. There's definitely a problem with sound-proofing or whatever that hasn't been addressed.

« Great service, special people in the Gold Lounge, very good airport transfer and housekeeping with a smile. »

The service attitude of your people at the Airport, Limo Drivers, front desk and Gold Lounge is exceptional. Your housekeeping staff were very responsive, Dalia was great at service with a smile and very welcoming and responsive. The Gold lounge staff were very helpful with Cairo trips, and pyramid tours as was your guide Magdi and driver. The Lounge team as a whole should be commended. The Napa Grill breakfast was disappointing. While the food offering was very good, the egg station excellent the waiter were inattentive and even rude. Imadi was really not helpful or responsive, we had to repeat everything , get our own water. Management seemed to know but did nothing. Part from this the hotel was excellent in every way.

We only stayed one night but the suite we were in was amazing. The staff were very helpful and happy. Breakfast was delicious. Really enjoyed the pool on top of the roof and the coffee machine in the room.

I booked a signature room, when I arrived I was surprised that my check-in is on the VIP floor and my room has been upgraded to a stunning suite with magnificent views over the river Nile. Great bed and a quite room as well.

« Excellent hotel but awful club noise »

This was an amazing hotel - fanstastic staff, great food in the restaurants and room service, wonderful room and lobby, great security. But it all fell apart at night with the horrible club music that kept me awake. I would never expect such a noise disturbance in a 5-star hotel. I stayed there twice during my visit and was on the 4th and 6th floors. Both times the music either kept me up or woke me up. The hotel was wonderful but I would definitely only want to come back on a much higher floor; if that wasn’t available I would reconsider staying there.

The experience was good and OK. There were some things that were very annoying. The electronic card to open the door of the room stopped every day, knowing that it was not next to the mobile phone and I explained on the last day that the door inspection device is causing the card to stop. But I will definitely back

My stay generally went great, but I had 2 negative experiences. I was harrassed by security when my room key could not work. A member of the housekeeping team saw me struggling with my key card and asked me to wait as he 'called security'. When 'security' came (an officious gentleman), he treated me like I was trying to break into my own room. He asked me my name, which he checked on a list he had and once he opened my room he made to show him my passport to prove that indeed it was me. The 2nd incident occured a few hours after I had checked out. I realized that I had forgotten my phone charger in the socket in my room (601), but your team (front office and housekeeping) were quite unhelpful and declined to go and confirm, stating that a guest had already checked into the room and that housekeeping had checked 'everywhere'. Both incidents marred an otherwise pleasant stay.

« The people make a place special! »

At the club level, you expect superior service. And truthfully, I didn't really get it (no butler, nothing special), except in the club lounge where Ahmed made all the difference in the world. As a single female traveler, it is easy to drop in, get a drink, grab a bite, and head back to your room. But Ahmed was engaging, entertaining and really cared that I enjoyed my stay in the hotel and in Egypt. When he learned that I especially loved the desserts served in the lounge, he packaged up a plate of them and delivered them to my room so they were waiting for me like a special gift when I arrived home that night. Did you catch that? I said home. Ahmed made me feel at home. There is no better compliment that I can give to a hotel on a distant continent in an exotic land.
